Engine turns over with ignition switch off

We need more info. What type of starter do you have and is the correct support bracket installed? And at what point did you install the Doghead relay? It is possibly a bad relay or a bad solenoid on the starter. Or it could even be the bendix sticking on the flexplate. And it could just be a...

    CUCV Starter problems

Welcome to the world of the Internet. Just because something works for one person it does not mean it will work for others. There are many other websites dedicated to the 6.2L/6.5L. They face the same issues we deal with here. Starters being one of them. The way I Understand it the Gear...

    Issues with SF-97

Years ago when I bought my first Deuce from GL it took 6 months for my EUC to clear. In the meantime I bought four more. Had to pay for pick up all of them at the same time. Fun times. I don't know why everyone is complaining. ;-)

Fusible links are only around 6" in lenght. The one he referred to is at the diamond shaped terminal block on the firewall.

    1998 6.5/4l80E swap..

In my opinion a total swap is not worth the effort. Too many electronic gizmos that really won't fit. Now to use the engine and tranny and dump the DB4 injector pump and add a mechanical DB2 pump is a good idea. The transfer case will not work.

Need electrical advise on M1008 please

The Fusible Links - 101 threads has all the links listed. You have to look at the corresponding diagrams to find them. There is no thread with a visual picture of the locations. You have to look for them. Two main places to look for fusible links are at the 24v terminal block behind the rear...

    CUCV Starter Supplier

You can contact any moderator with updated info. Then as a group the moderators will decide if updating is needed. This applies to any truck or Wiki. For the CUCV we have sort of moved away from the Wiki except for part numbers etc and now use the CUCV Helpful Threads sticky for how-to's. We...

    CUCV Starter problems

I have seen the $98 unit last years and some not even last a week. Almost all new ones are made in China. New starter bolts, proper shims and support brackets make a big difference.

    CUCV Starter Supplier

One is a direct drive (shaft is one piece front to back) and the other is a gear reduction (two shafts). Googling the model number will show the difference or you can look in the CUCV Helpful Threads sticky http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?15551-Starter-bracket-bolt-size Transfer...

    Issues with SF-97

I have seen a canoe require an EUC. It all depends on how the "military" personnel fill out the paperwork for turn in. The auction houses have no say if one is required or not. Now getting it processed is another matter

m1009 gear reduction starter whining wont start

As stated above, check your batteries first. As stated at the beginning of the troubleshooting section of the TM 9-2320-289-20 tech manual: Before starting any electrical troubleshooting make sure your batteries are fully charged (and I like to add Load tested) I was taught this same thing...

    Finding the history or M923a2

Any records that are available will be the last unit it served in. As far as I know you will never find all the past units. In the past one of our members had access to the Army database only but he is now retired and no longer offering the service.
