If that is at the front of the engine it is the temp sensor and is not for the glowplugs. The glowplug sensor is at the the top rear at the water jacket.

CUCV plugs are 12v to work with the 12/24v system. HMMWV plugs are true 24v and use the bullet connectors. You need to exchange your new plugs for the correct ones.

You can always just pull a fuse.

We used to have access to Army vehicles. The member that had the access is no longer able to provide that Intel.

You can't jump the front with the rear. A direct short will occur because of the way the system is wired. Gen2 will not charge the front battery.

Your really need GEN 1 as the charges the 12v side (front battery) of things and keeps the lights on and the injector pump turned on. you can swap batteries as needed to get you home

Your voltage reading are on the low side. Each alternator should be putting out ~14.5v. have you ever rebuilt them?

Just tape them up and zip tie them out of the way.
