Curb weight for my 1/2 ton is listed at 5800lbs and I know drive around weight is around 6500 lbs.
A CDL doesn't make a person a safe tower or driver. It's just a piece of paper. You would probably be in shock driving around in TX but we manage.
The conversation is about an empty 105. Don't think anyone is arguing that a loaded 105 is a good idea behind a pickup. Not talking about regular use either, just recovery.
The average quality built civilian tandem axle trailer is close to the 105 weight.
It's just a 2500 lb trailer behind a...
Some drama queens here. In TX, no brakes needed below 4.5K. An empty 105 is 2.5K. Obviously, the more level you can get it the better. I had a tall plate and it was still very nose down but it towed fine at freeway speeds behind a 1/2 ton Tundra. Recovery is just like an 101 and 110X...
Are you still running the 37s? Seems like a lot of drop. There was a guy on SS that un bolted the axle, trimmed the spacer plate, drilled new holes, then remounted the axle a few inches closer to frame.
Thank you! I pirated a retainer from another trailer but its nice to have the replacement ordered.
I think found the grease caps on E-trailer. Will see how they fit.

As others have said, a 105 is large for a jeep. I recovered a 105 with my Tundra, it went fine but would not want to do it regularly or with any cargo.
Will be a day or so but I will post a link where I got the rubber connectors.
Bulbs depend on which trailer you get.
It's pretty easy to connect a short 7 or 4 pin into the military junction box. It's plug and play if you order the rubber military connectors.
Unless you only play to tow military trailers, I would not have a Nato receptical installed on the jeep. The...
Spindle/Hub Nut Retainer or Castle Nut M101A3
Can anyone point me to a source for replacement retainers or castle nuts?
Working on an M101A3 and the retainer was missing on one side. At least the person that left it off stuck the cotter pin back in.....
Found castle nuts and retainers...
Ithaca did a nice job on his trailer. A drop axle seems a lot simpler than notching the frame or doing a spring under (as long as ground clearance is not a major concern.
Ithaca, what is you deck height now?
I made a few posts earlier in this thread. Going off the inside of the fender, I decided on 68" hub face for zero offset wheels and 72" hub face with 2" offset wheels (towards outside). Those numbers count for 2" space between the inside of a 10" wide tire and the of fender.
If going from the...
