Pull the light and mounting bracket off frame then grind off paint.
I had the same issue with same model of trailer from same site :) Didnt figure it out until I cut too many wires and broke one of the mil lights so I ended up replacing the lights as well. All for a poor ground connection...
I agree with others and prefer a pintle to ball set up.

Thanks for the info. I have been debating if a standard 83" wide trailer would work for trailer recovery and it looks like it will. A super-wide is a lot more money and a deck over is less practical for other tasks.

The good news is electric brake conversions seem possible for these trailers without an axle swap. 250 FRN could get brakes back.
