    Brought home three M116a3 trailers.

Looking forward to it. I have one (pending delivery) and am debating what to do with it. I may use it as an expo trailer and make the 101A3 a general hauler.

    Hello from Texas!!

Keep in mind when looking at 1101/1102 trailers that they are made of Al and have a pretty high scrap value. I dont see many 101A3s for sale in Texas.

    M101A2 Towing Speed

My sees up to 85 regularly. Good tires are a must and decent weight in bed.

    Scrapping an M1102

It is in great shape. Got a few offers but I am curious how they compare to scrapping or the scrap value.

    Scrapping an M1102

Has anyone scrapped one and want to share the results? I have been thinking of pulling the axle, surge brake, and wheels/tires then scrapping the frame and body. I would probably have to remove the draw bar and tie down supports/other small steel parts so I dont get a mixed metal price...

    M116a3 trailers

Looks like this rig could have gotten 5 on it. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/77768-Another-Hummer-Trailer-Build

    M101A2 to M1102 size comparison

Nice comparison. Going to pick up an 1102 next week and looking forward to comparing it with my current 101A3. Looks like a nice retreat you have set up. If I thought the tarp would survive TX freeway speeds, I would set up my trailer in a similar way. Looks like the ammo can and fender are...

    M1102 Military to Civilian Conversion

TexasTT, during your search for new hubs were you able to locate aftermarket 8x6.5 hubs? I just won an 1102 and would really like to swap the hubs and backing plates for an electric brake set up. I dont really care what the lug pattern is.

    New M1101 owner questions

I run my E-rated Dextero 235-75-16 tires at 60 psi most of the time. With a load I air them up to 80-90. Be careful buying wheels on CL, I think Chevy switched to a metric 8-lug pattern at some point.

How I solved the M1101 to tall problem.

I am not a fan of the towers of death unless it is for the initial recovery. If you plan to use that trailer I would modify the tongue of the trailer to gain a few inches, get a slight riser plate for truck side, then smaller tires should give you the rest. Another thing to consider, those 37"...

    M101A1 Rebuild

Did they have to grind off the shock mounts or were they just held on by the U- Bolts?

M101 A3 Build Utility, Camping, etc.

Mine tends to get more utility use than anything as well. Only go camping a few times a year. Been a great firewood hauler this year :)

Had an Aluminum top made for the m1102 trailer.

Looks nice. So total was $2800?

My M101A is in the shop at the moment

Sounds like a good plan. Curious what the total $ for the work is. If you dont mind sharing. Are you having any work done to the tongue/coupler?

old M116 trailers vs. newer M116s - installing bows where they aren't any

I would just weld a standard sized square or rectangular tubing to the deck. I would so 2x4x3/16 or 2x2x3/16 to accept standard 2x4 and 2x2 lumber.

    M101A3 tire/wheel question.

I bought some 16" Chevy 8 lug wheels with 29.5" Dextero tires (from walmart). Lowered the trailer about 3.5" and although I removed the brakes, they wheels did fit before doing so. My previous truck was a 4.0 Ranger 4x4 with tow package. I would have pulled a 101 with it. Would consider an...

    New Guy with M101A3

Thanks pma. I look forward to your build. I posted some field pictures of the trailer over on ExPo. Still have more plans for the trailer but its next task will be hauling some firewood this weekend...

Looks good Mark. I did think the tandem rig with your flatbed looked better though :)
