It's in my deuce but I scavenged some old bits of a LAV crane and built some pieces to make the turnable spindle - it's just got a hand winch but works well ;) I ended up putting 4" receiver pockets in the corners of the bed so you can put the crane anywhere... Just another way to skin the cat...

Did you try holding the start switch up for 10 to 20 seconds? - should energize the field and get the generator to start producing voltage...

Might have to build yourself a flange puller but once you pull the driveshaft you should have lots of room to pull the seal retainer out...

Are you looking to drop the T-case or try to do it in place? Either way you shouldn't have to pull the transmission

I got my m543a2 pretty buried in my own back yard, I had parked it and then just went to drive away about 3 weeks later - started spinning so I kept backing up to get a run at the little hill and then I found the soft stuff... Ended up breaking the pear link on the end of the front winch in low...

That "816" has some interesting features as it's using the M543 grille rather than the rounded 816 grille; but it definitely has the 816 fender braces and a cummins in it - I think I have only seen a handful of wreckers with gun rings in pictures ranging from WWII to present day - not very...

Well - I took the meter and the transducer out of the control cubical and made a little rig to run it off shore power and tuned the meter to show 60 Hz along with the fluke... Everything back installed and run - the set now hits 60 Hz right along with the fluke so that issue is solved... Only...
