Trying to figure out the thread size on the PDP to tap onto the 12v and negative circuits for aux power. Negative appears to be m6-1.0 . It looks like the 12v tap is larger maybe M8-1.0 but I am unable to start my thread checker set to verify. IS it a different pitch or has somebody narffed up...
FInally did mine a few weeks ago. Made a huge difference in improving the gap and sealing of the door in general. From what I saw the first step is to see if loosening all the bolts on the hinges and pushing the door up fixes things. Probably be easier with two people but I am taller and was...
While 38 mph is not correct. Trucks without the mode switch engaged starts in 3 gear and top out in 7th. What does the readout display when driving?

This is the one that I just put on. Much better than the old one. However my seats are aftermarket and they are mounted 2 inches higher than stock.
So far so good.

I wish that was the way it happened. I think it was 2-3 months waiting for an appointment. Crappy thing was the amount of time spent doing it. I hate the DMV...

You will be sent to CHP to verify vin. As the trucks do not have a proper vin they will verify it doesn’t and assign the serial number as the vin. Plus the fact that typically these trucks come from out of state kicks them to Chp as well.

Unfortunately CHP officers think they know everything about what they are doing. Mine thought the same until I informed him what the DMV rules were snd that he was only needed to look for the vin number. Also, he verified the emissions sticker on top of the motor. I also had a long wait for Chp...
I didn't notice any real big change off road. Being automatic certainly helps. One would think a well sorted truck w/highway gears would be worth that and then some. Its a lot of truck for the money once you go through all the systems to make sure they operate. For myself, the air conditioning...
Like you, my truck is a hobby. Idea of building a camper on the back was the first things I thought of when I saw these trucks show up in the 90's. So when I finally decided to get one I knew i needed to budget for "highway" gears from the start. Totally worth it for the fact you can cruise down...
In the process of reinstalling my seat belts. I didn't really pay too close attention to how they came out. How hard could it be? Upon reinstalling the lower retracting portion I am having issue with how the roller mounts back up to the wall while capturing the other end of the belt. Roller has...
Personally I would go with a name brand American brand. After going through all the work of getting these drivelines in shape it would be a pisser to have something fail on a crappy ujoint.

Thanks for that. Somehow missed the one paper that i posted the link to after reading your information earlier. Still after all that reading it really wasn't clear what the "D" actually meant to earlier trucks. Sounds like the only thing that was changed was the increase in size of the slip yoke...
So I am about to take my driveshafts in to have them gone through. I have read the plethora of threads regarding the topic but was wondering what is being made mention of in this paper? My truck has the D stamped on the data plate but exactly what did they do when they looked at the trucks? IF I...
A little more testing. Had sometime today to take the 1078 on a cruise. Around (San Luis Obispo Ca.) our test hill is known as Cuesta Grade. on
Hwy 101 . 7% grade that is a few miles to the summit. On the south side going North the truck maintained 45 miles an hour. Interesting part was that it...
I know these are the 3.07's but some might argue that they are better suited. YMMV
