it will have play over and 1/8" out of centerline is normal. did the seal retainer by chance pop out of it's place? and I use some permatex around the o.d. of the seal retainer when I drive it into place in the axle tube.
if I can figure out how to post pics from my phone this will be a lot easier. Performance gains were big. and the egt's dropped quite a bit from previous especially once the truck was up and moving my acceleration egt's climb much slower now. I still have a few mods to do on the air inlet...
I'm not one to type a lot so if you have any questions just ask and I'll try to answer. This is my install of the MRAP rad into my 931A2. I'm not sure the model of MRAP the unit came from but it's a big b*tch. 6" thick aluminum and is wider and taller than the original rad. It's so big I had to...
So far I have done the 4k springs, cranked the fuel, straight pipe, air cleaner baffle removed, Mrap radiator with top mount Intercooler, built a custom intake the get rid of the aftercooler, and the plumbing from the turbo to intercooler to intake is all 4" except for the short section of elbow...
We got denied the pickup of the 977 we bought. we even have a title for it. and we even bought a door for it because the truck was missing a door. Well maybe we can sell the door to the government for a stupid price to offset the getting dicked around. ha we wish.
Some helpful information here is you don't have to redrill holes on a 5ton to spin the centerchunk the bolt pettern is the same no matter which way you turn it unlike the 2.5ton. Also by putting the tierod on the front side you now have reversed your Ackerman Angle which affects the steering...
Just remember the leaf is what keeps the axle in place on the front so if you keep removing leafs it affect the strength. the other leafs in the pack help control the twist on the main leaf during braking or hitting objects. too many removed on a truck this heavy and the main leaf will have more...
Keep us informed. My buddy and I are messing with ours. we have made pump mods and partial exhaust mods but will be going bigger exhaust soon. we also are in the process of putting MRAP radiators/intercoolers in our trucks.
The filter minders they used are junk. that's the problem mine has the old style and it never pulls up but my buddies truck has the style as you're referring to and his truck has identical mods as mine and his will suck the filter minder right up.
The air filter is next on my list of modifications. On my 8.3L I've cut out the muffler, added the 4k governor springs, and modified the injection pump. I am now installing a radiator/ intercooler from an MRAP and will be gutting the aftercooler to see how much I can drop the egt's. The...
