There are alot of other ratios from the civilian world of truck that used the rockwell toploader that will work. I have 2 sets of axles with 5.81 ratio gears that will bolt right into the 5 ton so they are available.
I hope to have an answer in a couple days for ya on price. He's still doin some figures. Does anyone have a hub they would be willing to send to him for some measureing so he can save some time on the design? He'll conpensate ya for your time and the shipping cost to and from. If so let me...
Being that the size is twice that of a 2.5 ton it'll be more than $500 but they won't be no $2400 a pair like those goofs at Spare Parts Inc. I talked to Mitchell there and he's a bit high up on his horse and doesn't care if people buy his stuff or not. So oh well Russ can make them alot...
All the 5 tons nomatter what series they are are 2 1/8" 16 spline. The only different ones were the axles that ame in the Oshkosh firetrucks they had 2 1/4" 23 spline shafts but these are rare.
Thanks guys I'll let him know and see what kinda actual price he can make them for. But he said it would be signifigantly less than whats out there now.
Does anyone here have any interest in 5 ton lockouts? I have a friend that is thinking about making them but he doesn't know if he'll have enough people that would buy a set to make his time worth while in doing this. And they should be a bit more affordable than Spare Parts prices.(Those guys...
it's not really an order. I found a guy who has several sets and I have to buy all to get any. And these are used but in new condition. And he said I can test each one to make sure they work before buying. I saw the price of these new and almost crapped my pants. lol
I have line on some used 7" 24v MV LED headlights. Is this something anyone would be interested in? There is a limited quantity and from what I gather they will be around $350.00 per pair or should I beat the guy down at that price.
This is a big miscconeption. There is no law that says it's illegal or legal so it's more up to the preferene of the owner. Some deem it not safe but all the newer farm tractors are full hydraulic and with the newer transmissions can run in excess of 45 to 50 mph. If the system is not setup...
sorry guys I've just been busy. I'll try to do it soon. For those who can't wait and want to hit 'em up by phone here's the number. Paul Dell's Truck Salvage - 814 695 5929. I usually deal with Brian but anyone of them should be able to help ya. And it's best to play dumb as per whats stuffs...
Thats cool to see it get used for a purpose and not just to have. So if and when the gov. decides they aren't going to sell the civi's anymore surplus we can take pics like this and say hey we do have a good reason for wanting these trucks so keep em comin.:-D
I have a few budies that have used U-ship.com to move all kinds of stuff from tractor tires and wheels to tractors and heavy equipment and they swear by it.
