I would not do it if it were me. Here is my thinking:
The airpack (if memory is correct) can put out up to 1,200 psi inside the line and pass it to the inside of each wheel cylinder.
A 1.25" wheel cylinder has an area of 1.226 sq. inches. x 1200 psi =1471 pounds of force produced from each...
Scored some new parts today. Half of a PTO shaft, PTO lockout, a pair of good taillights and mounts, a pair of bumper tins and a single rear clevis. $40 form Swanson Salvage Blair, Wisconsin. Here is the truck the parts came from. I see the plug is missing on the bell housing and it has brackets...
Vent for the axle. 5 rubber brake lines, should be 3 axle vents total. They thread into the axle housing just like the brake hoses. They thread into steel lines that look like steel brake lines. The difference is they run right past the airpack and go to the breather on the firewall between the...
My belief is there is 1 brake hose to the front axle. The second one is the vent from the front axle. So 2 hoses are on the truck, but only 1 is the vent. You should have seen me scratching my head when I was in the troubleshooting phase cracking every connection tracing the lines trying to find...
I re-used mine in both trucks. They looked like new. It is a fairly easy job until you separate the intake and exhaust manifolds. Heat, heat, heat. The 2 studs were good and the 2 bolts unthreaded and they separated. Had to clean out the non threaded holes with a 1/2" drill to get enough play to...
They make great campers. We throw a 10x14 tarp over the top in the summer so the steel roof does not get hot and park it broadside to the breeze and let it blow thru. Never needed AC. We run a 800-1200 watt milk house heater in the winter and get cooked out with 3 people. Great project. My...

Had a little delay and failure finding a local source for seals and sleeves on two of the diffs.
National carries a seal part #450104 but it would require machining the flange to 2 7/16".
I have NOS...
Thanks for the idea on the keyed switch Dave. I will order one. My next idea is to place it inside a project box. I picked one up from radio shack for $5. I'll have all the wires hidden. The plan was to put the switch on the ground so it cannot short if the lugs got bumped. Inside the box it...
We hit it hard again today. Finished some small items inside and pulled the grill off for paint. The actual grill needs to be sandblasted. Too hard to sand and the paint is flaking.
The winch lockout turned out well.
I have a main power switch hidden under the dash. Don't tell anyone.
I believe with an ohmmeter. They should have no resistance thru the core and infinity from core to sheath and hex connectors. PM or email me your address and I will send you a set of plugs.

Military distributor, wires and plugs. I'm trying to keep this one all original as operated by the the FD in the early 70s.
I think a guy could convert it to High Energy Ignition fairly easily.
The truck runs great except if over-choked it misses until warm. As long as the fenders were off, I decided to pull the plugs and see if one was carbon fouled. Surprise! cracked porcelain on #6. Easy fix. Whew!
Also a shot of the mud flaps and taillight.
