I borrowed a NT 40 pounder from drgreg. I only blasted the bed, one door, the windshield frame and the grill with it. The hood, fenders and drivers door we all new so I only needed to sand them with the DA a little bit. If I ever did it again I may consider renting a sand blaster. Each panal...
I was just cleaning out my email and found one from drgreg. It was a few pics of my deuce before I picked it up. What a difference a little bit of sanding and paint will make. I will just have to learn how to do side by side pics.
Jv,
Just wait a few days. I have found after using the Rustoleum it took a few days and then it looked right. There is something odd about black that it doesn't look good at first. I used the rapco green and I'm sure you thought the same that it looked great right after spraying. The black...
Thank you for that. I taped all of my cammo lines off. I air brushed the lines between the brown and black but not the green and black or brown. I really like the sharp lines more and may redo the ones I air brushed. Here is a link to my write up, it's also a link in my sig line, if you...
Look, I had to pick up your slack for not doing even one. On that note, are you doing the ROH parade this weekend?
Your buddy is the Goat. The old guy who wanted you to quiet down because you were too loud.
Now for a quick rant:
When I pulled up I parked behind the only other deuce...
Well for Memorial Day my wife and I had a plan. I would take our son to the parade in Hartford, WI with Poof and she and our daughter would ride their bikes to the local parade here just to watch. As I was getting into the line up for the Hartford parade I got a text from my wife, she is...
RichardR,
I didn't reuse my bowtie, I got one from Gimp. Even when not broken they are very sloppy. I have thought about getting one of out machine shop members to make a new one with tighter tolerances and give that a try. However, I'm sure there is a reason for the slop and probably...
Yes I use it there as well. The hard part is making sure the key way is clean of greese before you use the RTV. Let's face it when you slide the bearings on it tends to fill the key way with greese again and the last thing I want to do is chance hitting the bearing with break cleaner when...
I am happy to report that I have had the deuce on several short trips now and everything is fine. I do have a loose fuel line I need to get tightened up, but the HH is holding in there. Now let's just hope it stays that way.
One pic I forgot to share was this one. I gave my son a printed copy of the TM camo pattern to color by number. When he saw the deuce all painted he looked at it and told me "daddy, you did almost as good of a job as me". Gotta love that boy.
If I ever buy another cargo truck the first thing I am going to do is drill a 1/2" hole in the bottom of all the stake holes. They just don't drain well enough. I had one that must have filled with water, freeze and expand. That took a little while to get out and left a nice scar.
I thank all of you for the compliments. Having my peers review and like my work is a great honor. And to anyone who would like me to do their truck next, sure. Bring it to WI with a few gaallons of paint and a few hundred pounds of blasting sand and you can pick it up in a few weeks. Did I...
