I did my best on the cab forward to follow the TM. Then I put the cover on and used it as a guide. I am not sure how long the all of the masking took, but I know the bed was over 3 hours for the brown and at least another 1 for the black.
Well it took me just over 5 weeks with only a few breaks in there, but the deuce is done for now. What I mean by that is I still have the interior, frame, axles and some other odds and ends to paint. I will get to those when the snow and cold come back to visit. For now it's time to enjoy the...
I just finished mine. I used Rapco and loosly followed the TM. One suggestion is to put the cover on and mark the lines from it then go from there. I am very pleased with the Rapco paint. I am not so pleased with the Rustoleum flat black as I once was. As you can see I masked my pattern, then I...
I would remove the fuel line coming to the HH and the fitting from the HH. Clean them all up real well and put them back in. It could be one of them is loose and just making it look like it is coming from the stud. If it is coming up from the stud there is a good chance it is one of the 2 O...
Fist I would try to tighten the bolt in the center of the HH. It's really more of a plug than anything and if it's loose fuel will come out of it when just the fuel pump is on. If memorey serves that should be 3/4" and you may need to move the injector boots up to get a socket onto it.
Then I...
One more thought. I am using Xylene to thin it, I was considering trying Acetone. I once read that Acetone also reduces the "shine" of the paint to make it a bit flatter. Just a thought.
I am currently painting my truck with Rapco green and brown and the Rustoleum black. I am finding pretty much the same. However, the blotches tend to fade out after a few days. My problem is thining the black. I tried the 4:1 that I did with the primer and the Rapco and it was too thick...
It is best to use a wooden dowl or a drift have some one else turn it over and watch the dowl/drift. It should move up and down. If not you can try to tap it lightly, be careful this could knock the button off the bottom. If it still won't move you will need to remove the HH and either...
I assume the ugliness you speak of is the hood and how it tilts up at the front? Isn't the whole reason for that being the Cat motor being taller? Don't get me wrong, I would love a Kitty Cat in my truck. I know there was some one working on putting a Cat 3208 in a Deuce, now that would be a...
I am pretty sure my problem was not due to the use of WMO but rather the button retaing spring for the button on the bottom of the HH plunger giving out. You could see the damage to the button and the bottom of the plunger from it. If you need more help just email me, if only I could recall...
