Cool. I had worked on the master cylinder and only temporarily cured the brake issues, so I always suspected there was evil lurking elsewhere in the brake system. I think you have finally exorcised it.
I think that's a 20A plug, not 30A. Regular wall outlet plugs are rated 15A, even though they're usually on 20A circuits. Outlets where one hole is T-shaped will accept either the 15A or 20A plugs.
Interesting. I might give that a try. I have nothing to lose since I've already replaced the module, so I might as well learn how to de-pot stuff in the future.
How much does the stuff outgas in the oven? Is that something I really don't want to do in the kitchen oven?
It sure annoys me that the danged failsafe warning modules are potted in epoxy. I just had to replace one in my M923, and I am sure I could have repaired the old one if it wasn't potted. I was tempted to make my own deluxe repairable module, but in the end I just spent the $150ish on a new one...
The first set of filler panels I got for my HMMWV were plain ones, and I later got a set that had hinged bottom sections so that the rear footwells are accessible from the outside of the truck. I think I got them off eBay, and that was several years ago.
When I converted my truck to a shelter...
My previous shutter stat repair worked for a while, but after using the wrecker yesterday, the shutter stat valve started venting air out the small hole in the end again. I guess I'm going to need to order a new one after all.
Ok, the link works on my laptop. That particular cylinder is too small, but just knowing that Bimba also makes them with spring-extend and air-retract is helpful. Thanks!
I have been I unpinning at the bottom so they stow out of the way on the boom When I reattach them, I find it easier to pull the T pins to let them telescope, pin the bottoms, then adjust the boom until the T pin holes line up. Working by myself, it is easier to line up the T pin holes than the...
The link didn't work on my phone. I'll try it on my laptop after lunch.
Which way does the spring go? The Bimba cylinders that McMaster carries all have the springs going the wrong way.
I'm brainstorming a possible truck modification in which it'd be handy to have a pneumatic actuator that works just like an air brake spring canister, but is smaller and has lower actuation forces. The actuator would need around 1"-2" of travel, push out the actuation rod under spring pressure...
That transfer case can be really hard to shift when the wheels aren't moving. If the gears are lined up just wrong, then it won't shift until the truck moves a bit. I thought my transfer case was broken when I first got my truck, but I learned that I just needed to get the hang of shifting it...

Hmm, that Ready Welder looks interesting! Naturally, I'd want the one that they won't sell me for my wrecker:
