You need an export liscence. Contact Ian Newby in Vancouver, B.C. I believe that he is with "Western Command historical society. He has more than enough experience with this and could be able to assist. For contact info, you'll have to go throught their website. It is possible, but not easy...
We just did our first (soon to be) Annual toy drive in North Vancouver B.C.
We just got the M-135 so, planning was pretty much on the fly! The toys were sent to our local Salvation Army, who host a Santa's Toy Store, for families who need help. Here are a couple of pics, but I would really...
The tubes are not original or official. some unit mod from what I can see, and they didn't have a qualified welder do the job. If it was a job authorized on brigade level, the welds would have not have been noticed. We pay people to do this right. Ask around the donor unit to see if anyone...
If you live where you might use chains, weld 1 link of chain onto the box. Make it green. Then put a hook about 3 ft away. The link end will then have a padlock. The other end hold the bitter end of the chain. When it's summer, oil them and put them away, unless you want to brag about the snow...
You know, it is just a truck! On the other hand, is a moving tangible monument to all of those who served and rode in that truck. I am very proud to drive ours, and to be an ambassador for all of those who brought to every fool, the right to freely express his opinion, and then be judged as to...
No need to hang a prosthetic device. If you have a deuce, you more than likely won't need it. If this still is problem, don't worry... you will grow a real set, driving one of these!
They were replaced by MLVW in the 80's. Some of the old timers are still playing soldier, and remember the old trucks. We mainly had the M-135, with a few 211s kicking around.
Fire Dept... fitting! Check all of the 24 V cables for abbrasion. That would be the first place to look for your impromtu arc welding. Fusable links are still available and never try to replace them with a fuse or circuit breaker. They were designed for very different jobs. If that branch of...
With all of the people, who have helped people like me, I always try to pay back. And, no, like you I don't accept cash. The payment has already been made by some other good person, at a time when I needed it! As a side bous, you feel like you are 10 feet tall when you drive away and see the...
We have the M-135 smaller sister to that. Let me know what help we can give online. We still have serving Army members who fixed that beast, and who I can call in favour from. The TM is posted on this site. Let me know if we can help! Good luck, and save that sweet old girl!
Ya might want to check out the air connection under the dash, or depending upon your truck, get a glad hand adaptor. It may be handy next time. TM's are available on this site. Mind you, the last time I used that, when wearing green was to air up our leaky CF air mattresses. I got 1/2 night...
Our M-135 has a "temporary parking brake" I always leave it on when the truck in un-attended. If they can find the master SW, the first time that they apply the brakes will be the last. If they're smarter than that, the truck is very well insured!
Anything is possible. Not many are advisable. This is one to reconsider. Under combat conditions, you do what you have to. Under peace time rules....NOPE. Hire a bigger rig. Or a better lawyer and be prepared to pay when Oh my....what just happened in the mirrors... Don't worry, the suggested...
Up here we just had a problem with surplus MLVWs which only have a single braking circuit. They may become parts only vehicles. This may be realted to your problem, or as others have said, some now friendly country put in a big wish list to Santa!
Post for a trained and qualified driver. You can probably find one at the nearest National Guard unit. Download the manuals from this site. Then get your driver to give you a crash course. You could do this blind, but I would HIGHLY NOT recommend it! There are a few things that you will learn...
