I disagree. Fitting the body to the later model rolling chassis would be easier in that there are fewer mounting points to fabricate and weld onto the frame. If the host chassis has stabilizer bars, they can be replaced with heavier bars to counter the body roll.

Wow, great idea!
I foresee a rolling custom cradle to mount the winch to for storage and for easily mounting to the truck. It would not need hydraulics, just some jack screws to rotate the winch into alignment.

It's prolly been mentioned, or in one of the posts attached, but fitting a u-shaped clamp with provisions for a pad lock behind the handle of the extended fuel stop cable works for me.

Ty, Thanks for posting pics of your project! It's awesome!
It looks like there is sufficient real estate on the passenger side of the dash for some government property data plates! They wouldn't cost too much and would add to the image!

Eastern Surplus claims to have built some for 6 Flags. See the link on their home page.
There are 5 trucks down here parked beside the road 20 minutes south of the Liberia airport. I inspected a combination of deuces and M939 series offered as tour vehicles. They are fitted with forward facing...
If the cavitation is occurring with the pump simply sucking and returning the oil to the tank, I'd suggest a larger suction hose with easy bends (45* or less) in the fittings. I'd also fit a better designed tank with increased depth, volume and distance between the suction and discharge ports.

One of my go to songs is the Rolling Stones singing: "Time waits for no one". I'd post a link if I knew how!
Best wishes to you Captain, may the road rise up to meet you..... Your contribution to this forum is appreciated.

If it's the same as a deuce, you can take a look at the linkage pieces by searching in the "Parts for Sale". SS member USMC6062 is selling a rear PTO and pump kit. The cross-shaft linkage with lever is clearly visible.

Lets SEE, (get it?), how about a brush chipper, wood splitter or hydraulic chainsaws?

Given your intended usage, I wonder why mileage is a concern. It may be best to consider how you might select gearing for obtaining the best part of the torque curve at the speeds you expect to drive at and let the mileage fall where it may.

Hi and welcome! Good on you to have it hauled, vs. trying to drive it. My suggestion is to place an add on U-Ship.com. There you can have truckers bid on the haul, and after a few weeks on there, you will know the best price for hauling.
It's always good to be as informative in placing info in...
The Garwood PTO winch is a beast and wrestling the cable once or twice (or all day!) will have any sane person think twice about un-spooling often.
Congrats on the install and thanks for the photos.
