Could do that, but then you're having to buy an extra tank when you can just use the factory hydraulic tank relocated to the chassis. Whichever tank is used (i'm using the factory hydraulic tank) will require new fittings welded in.
Wcuhillbilly that's the same rotary as mine, haven't found any...
The 855 series engines are known to last for 1 million miles before rebuild, started at least once a day pretty much every day. In my opinion it's overkill to install a pre oiler but it's not a bad idea either.
To keep the system happy and not back flow anything the oil needs to follow the same...
The spin on filter setup will probably be cheaper in the long run. My stock one hasn't decided to leak yet thankfully.
Haha speaking of hydraulic filters, reminds me of the longest call I had on a single drilling rig. The hydraulic system for the top drive had a pretty large double 5500psi...
I'm saying even after that. Looks like the line of thinking was:
1. move the hydraulic pump to the chassis. Call it good.
2. Second engineer comes in and says that they need to tie in the front winch. Call it good.
3. Third engineer comes in and says that the rear winch needs to be hydraulic...
Wow they made a cluster **** of the rear winch hydraulics. That's a design of engineers A, B, C, and D didn't talk to each other and assembler E has to put it all together. Pretty obvious that having the rear winch hydraulically powered wasn't their original intention when they laid out the...
Gotcha, that makes sense.
Rather than carrying another heavy piece of steel around, why not use the whiffle tree as the 'combining bracket'?
Or, maybe setup as the wide legged M. Use the short crane support legs running from the outside pin holes of the whiffle tree to the pads. Then the...
Just to clarify on the numbers. Per the TM the stock passenger side fuel tank is 55 gallons, stock hydraulic tank is 60 gallons.
Going off the measurements the stock hydraulic tank has the capacity for about 77 gallons.
The AREA of the stock passenger side fuel tank is large enough for a 109...
The length measurement I posted is for the entire area of the passenger side fuel tank, not just the tank itself. From the metal mud flap over to the front of the tank. Subtract about 12" for just the tank.
Ah gotcha. That would work fine.
Went out to the wrecker today and got some measurements. Was going to work on the truck but so far it's been one of those days where everything has been difficult for no reason, so said screw it and taking it easy this afternoon instead.
Stock hydraulic tank is...
Good idea using old fire hose. Yea the hoses are getting old. Usually I keep the cargo cover on the truck to protect everything from sun/weather but it is a pain in the ass to always set it up and tear it down every week. You can also see the 1 hose that is scuffed up badly from the tool box...
Added volume doesn't eliminate the need to stop often to re-supply when offroading. Reduces the amount of stops required yes but doesn't eliminate it and makes those stops longer. There's alot of technical offroad terrain here where you will turn from lock to lock repeatedly within the length of...
Possible but I'd rather not use the stock 75 gallon fuel tank. I like the longer distance range it provides. I'd like to keep both fuel tanks for the 130 gallons total range (figuring my slightly over 6mpg, makes for almost 800 mile range) but moving the hydraulics to the chassis is a higher...
For on road driving the stock air compressor is adequate. When we were offroading the stock setup could not keep up with his air requirements in the more technical areas. Never ran out but was low enough to be a concern.
No clue why so many of yall are irritated by this mod. It's to supplement...
That would work but would take alot of modifications. What I'm talking about would require no mods to the stock winch/pulleys. Heres a very quick, very ugly drawing in ms paint. Don't spew your coffee on the keyboard when looking at these fine, artistic abilities haha.
Green is the boom. The...
