I bet some sound absorbing material on the inside of the roof in my hard top would help a lot. I would also think under the hood, I mean the literal hood would help a lot too. I have found sound travels around steel real good. I found that out the hard way while working in an equipment room...
I have a spare "C" at the house. I had planned to install it on my truck but came to my senses before I had a chance. I don't mind the noise but my little girl and all her cousins like to ride in the truck so quiet is now "hip". In fact I installed one of those NAPA mufflers before I left for...
I didn't mind bouncing my own guts out so I moved faster than some of you guys with passengers. I got waved over on the way home while on highway 17 by a dude. I pulled over wondering what he wanted and he asked me what I did to make my truck go so fast. He told me he was behind me and I was...
I am now home in Blythewood and eating some real food. I found out my truck goes pretty fast for a deuce. Had a great time on the trail although my butt did pucker a lot.
Picture's to follow. By the way most of you look scarier in person

Well ready or not, here I come. I plan to leave at 6:00 in the morning. Truck is packed and ready to role. DVD player and boom box are wired up. Muffler installed. I hope to get to the park before 11:30. I hope I don't miss the trail (or is it trial) ride.

Well I called today to confirm I had a camp spot and I do. I plan to leave from the Columbia area at 6:00 am Saturday morning and arrive before you guys hit the trail. I figure it will take at least 5 hours to get there. I might drive through the woods since my top speed is 56 mph. Then...
Here's the thread with pictures of the alternator
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=102135&highlight=#102135
If I understand the TM it should have between 26 and 30 volts which is what I have at 29 volts. It still worries me because the meter in the cab is...
TM 9-2320-280-34 states for no load test(follow my copy and paste):
Amps-28 VDC-14VDC as follows below:
81-100 21-25 10.5-12.5
Test bench battery is discharged (or defective).
Allow to charge (or replace).
81-100 26-30 13-15
Give time to stabilize while monitoring VOLTS...
Well I checked my voltage on my dual voltage alternator (or is it generator?) and the high side is 29 volts and the low is 14.5. I think I am about to blow up my batteries. The volt meter on the inside of the truck is at the edge of the red.
What you guys thing? Do I need a new regulator or...
My coolant looks OK but I will check it with a tester if I can find it. As for the alternator it's the HMMWV dual voltage alternator with the huge regulator on top. I will have to check the voltage when I get home.
I have noticed my truck doesn't perform the way my old truck does and this has me concerned for a long trip. Two things.
My old truck ran 180 degrees. My current truck runs and holds 200. Is that OK or should I look for a problem? Seems to be working well and doesn't go over 200. It may...
I too considered doing a Ford cab a while back and there is one thing that keep me from it. Anyone can have a Ford but how many people have a monster truck convertible. I think being able to remove the top and lower the windshield is just cool. I haven't done that lately but at least I can if...
RE: Re: RE: DragonCon 2007 Parade...MV
So Ryan, how did it go? Did you guys have a good turn out for the MV's. Hate I was too busy but there is always next year.
RE: WTB m105 side racks/roof bowsat rally
Yep, four weeks and counting. This will be the high light of my summer, if that gives you any idea what kind of summer I have had  . All work and no play makes Jack a very tired and grumpy man. Makes plenty of money for Jill to buy lots of new...
Just push it out in the woods and make sure anything that will hold rain water can. That's what the forestry department here does and we do love to buy from them and try to drive them home
Sorry, I know that was wrong but it felt so good. I think I will browse GSA right now and see if...
Re: RE: DragonCon 2007 Parade...MV
I was hoping you still had it. I thought the other day about where it might be and I couldn't think of any place here. The brain don't work like it used to and I find myself hunting stuff all the time
I will be attending the Rally, I have already...
