RE: DragonCon 2007 Parade...MV
I hate to not to go, but I'm just too busy with work. I think if there continues to be a demand for MV's at the parade, I will plan on next year. If I'm still this busy with work I will be dead in a year anyway
After the dust settles I think it would...
RE: DragonCon 2007 Parade...MV
Oh holy crap. I have too much to do but I would love to attend the show and putting the truck in would be just too cool. I am in the middle of completing a big job with a dead line of Sept. 15 and I am on the verge of getting behind in my regular sewer business...
Seco had a couple the last time I was there, about 18 months ago. I remember looking at them and trying to think of a use for them. I think it would be nice to attend the auction at CMS next month and visit SECO during lunch :D
I have been looking around and taking some measurements and have concluded a HMMWV ambulance body might work great on a "bobbed" deuce. I think it would be long enough to look right and it would be the right width. More research is in order.
Well, I had a nos M998 cargo cover sitting in the basement and a couple sets of the bows to fit the M998, and I need somewhere to sleep at the Helen Georgia gathering, so I figured, why not put it on the deuce.
It took a few hours and I have to finish but it's on the truck. It's not pretty...
International tire and tube in Texas will have them but you should be able to find them locally because that is a normal size, just make sure you get radial tubes. I don't have the info in front of me but you should be able to find it here somewhere.
Well here's a few of what my ring looked like strait from SECO. I installed it the way it came off the truck. I have lots of big pictures showing it from all angles if any body wants some.

Most people use a 9' bed of some kind or another. I made a bed for my truck that is the width of the front fenders and 8.5' long. I installed the axle in the exact position it was in with the tandem set up. I think the M105 guys put it back a little more to match the fender wells. I wish I...
RE: shortened 5 ton
We used to shorten our own trucks from time to time. All civilian trucks. We would buy Ryder trucks with boxes on the back, remove the box, shorten and take to the shop that would put the dump bed on the back. Haven't done it in years now. It was fairly simple if the...
I had installed in my old truck (which some of you see often) a keyed ignition switch which broke the hot wire for the on switch and I installed a battery cable disconnect behind the drivers seat. The keyed ignition was enough to keep most people out and the disconnect switch was more of a keep...
When you get the beast home don't spend any real money on parts until you check with us
I have a small bone yard and try to keep a little of everything. I have a spare axle and if one of my axle was in bad shape I would just replace the whole thing. I would think you could find a...
I was bidding on about 50 of the 11.00's here in Columbia SC several months ago. Many where new. I don't know how ended up with them but if someone knows how to contact a bidder on GSA I can look and see who the guy was that got them.

I think these alternators are off of hummers. I down loaded the TM from this site for one of the hummers and it has this alternator in it. My mechanic friend thinks it goes to some light or something that is either lit when the alternator is working properly or lit when it's malfunctioning.
I just painted my truck outside. I love flat paint. The only thing I had trouble with was my sweat dripping on the truck. It's been over 100 all week :(
Well I finally got the big alternator installed. It seems to work. It started to charge the 24 volt system and kept the needle right on the right side of the "green" zone. Head lights where nice and bright. The 12 volt side was registering in the strong zone on my cheap-o battery/charger...
Get ya some nice looking mud flaps and it will make the bed look more at home. My truck had that "butt too big and high in the air" look until I put the mud flaps on. I think a set of the Yosemite Sam "BACK OFF" flaps would look really nice
I foresee some Michelin radials in the future.
Welcome DLP48. I am looking for a shelter too and have a thread about it you should check out.

Good luck. I think the s250 would hang over the tailgate of your truck.
