    New Tire Setup on Deuce

Well I welded up another wheel today and mounted one of the 14.5 by 20 XL's. It rained on me before I could get it on the truck but I managed to get it on in the dark. Took a few pictures. I really, really like the way they look on the front. One shot shows the 11.00 on the drivers side...

Holy cow! Who engineered these things?

I checked around today and I will have to remove my stock alternator pulley and have it drilled out like Mike did. I will take some pictures as soon as I get it back on.

    The '07 Ga./Southern Rally-details/signup here

Well, I just made my reservations for a 30' site with water and power. I assume that means I can pull my truck into the spot and sleep in the back. Yee, haw. I am planning on driving up to Gaffney Friday night and leaving out from there the next morning. If any of the guys up that way want...

Holy cow! Who engineered these things?

Re: RE: Re: RE: Holy cow! Who engineered these things? I am worried the regulator will not work right and over charge the battery. I always worry about anything that I am modifying from it's intended purpose. I always assume thing will fail. That could be a disorder of some kind.

Holy cow! Who engineered these things?

Re: RE: Holy cow! Who engineered these things? Well that stinks. I was trying it with the dual voltage pulley. I was hoping the belts would work although I figured they would not. I will be pulling it all apart in a few minutes. :x I already have the 12v battery in place. My biggest...

How bad is that northern winter weather on vehciles?

I know what you guys mean. My bob deuce was a rust bucket. I didn't think much of it because I replaced the cab and fenders. Lots of stuff on it is not problem, but any bolts in the frame have to be torched. No way to unbolt. I expected the sheet metal to be a problem but the frame kind of...

How bad is that northern winter weather on vehciles?

I have a question about a vehicle I am looking at buying. It's not a MV but I was hoping to draw on you north east folks knowledge. I also figured info about how to manage rust can't be a bad thing to talk about. However, if the moderators or this forum remove this post, I understand. Just...

Holy cow! Who engineered these things?

I guess more than anything I am wanting to vent, but it's at least a chance one of you has some advice. When I changed my master cylinder on Bod D. Deuce a few weeks back I kept asking myself, "what bonehead designed this thing with that one impossible bolt next to the frame rail ?" I later...

    Bed intallation on bobbed deuce

I figured it would take a 5 or 6 inch move of the axle to make the M105 bed work. The funny thing is now that I made the 8.5' bed for my truck I wish I had it 9'. If you look at most 1 ton civilian trucks as well as smaller trucks, the rear axle is about centered with the bed. I think my...

    Deuce Down!

I picked up an old 5 ton a few months back from GSA and it cranked with my batteries. Fired it up and it ran. Shut it down and brought back the truck and trailer a few days later. Fired it up this time to load it and it ran away and smoked bad. I could only keep it from running away by...

    Bed intallation on bobbed deuce

Found the pictures. The one of the bed on it's side has a little red arrow at the cut which will become the front corner of the bed. I liked the M105 size so I designed the new bed to use a M105 tail gate. It's very light weight and I have already bent it once while dumping the load. More...

    Bed intallation on bobbed deuce

Well here's a quick question. Did you put the axle back in it's original place or did you move it back a little? I had planned the put a M105 on the back of Bob D. Deuce, but didn't measure everything real good before shortening the truck. I put the axle in it's original place and sat the...

    Bob the Dumpin' Deuce lives

Well I finally got a up load to Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bkbbh7GhCys I will also take a few pictures of the dump hinges tomorrow for Sermis. I must admit, I had an old lift gate from a truck that I used for a lot of the parts. The bed is small and therefore I used a relatively...

    Bob the Dumpin' Deuce lives

Here's a couple of threads that cover some of the wheel stuff: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=107708&highlight=#107708 http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=9952&postdays=0&postorder=asc...

    Bob the Dumpin' Deuce lives

I took some picture of the truck Sunday morning and thought I would post a few here. Still not complete but getting there. I made a video of the dump and put it on youtube, but it still had not shown up. I posted another today in a different format but still no sign of it. Cabell, would this...

    S.S. Ga Ralley?

It sounds like we are looking at maybe two events. It wouldn't matter to me either way, but I think a get together at Clint's to eat, drink and, well you know the rest, would be great. It also sounds like some serious riding in NC. I think it is kind of Clint to offer to have a gathering at...

    Bob the Dumpin' Deuce lives

That's the sad part about it. I am almost certain that the MINI excavators are all made in Japan. I am sure there are those that are not but the Cat and the Deere MINI excavators are made in japan and sold here with the rest of the USA made machines. That's why they cost more, you are paying...

    Bob the Dumpin' Deuce lives

Let me take a moment and recommend Kubota for anyone looking at an excavator. That is my second "121". We bought our first a few years ago. I put 1600 hours on it and didn't loose a single second of work because of break down. That's right, not a single mechanical problem in over 1600 hours...

    Bob the Dumpin' Deuce lives

Well, I finally got enough of the truck fabbed up to use it today. It still is not road worthy, but I moved two loads of brush to the back side of the Ponderosa today. It dumped beautifully. I still don't have the alternator put on it but the batteries are holding up very well. I need to...

towing a Deuce with a 1 ton or 3/4 ton pickup

UPDATE: I looked in my owners manual and my truck is rated at 13500 for the trailer, 20000 gross with the truck. That means a deuce is over loaded for my F350. The trailer will handle it but the truck is pulling more than it is rated for. I would not cross state lines with the load...
