RE: Re: How bad is that northern winter weather on vehciles?
Thanks for the info Scott. I am not lucky enough to have so little trouble. The guy wants too much for the truck down here too.

Re: RE: Compressor Pulley
I love to see a guy that is touch with reality. Good luck and remember, if it looks like you are about to break something, don't be surprised if you do
If you are cheap like me and have a good understanding of physics, you can do it with two proper sized pipe wrenches. I have no doubt the special wrench would work better. I changed mine with two pipe wrenches, but then again, I was pipe-fitter for 15 years 8)
Civilian tires are not cheap. There are plenty of kool tires out there but they will cost you. The Michelin XL's are hard to come by but they are cheap. Or course you could go with some 22.5" tires and rims and not worry about those spit rims again. Are you looking at putting them on a BOB...
RE: shelter
I thought you might have some. I may have to plan a trip down your way next month. I'm starting a job that will keep me real busy for the next month.
Thanks,
Joe Trapp
Yea, Haw, I finally sprayed a coat of Gillespie 319 on the truck. I love that color. I think the star adds some color too. I still haven't scraped the over spray from the all the glass yet. Well lets see how this 1.5 MB picture shows up.

RE: Re: I want a shelter for a CUCV
Yes, I think the S250 is what I saw on a web site. It will be perfect. My custom bed is only 74" wide on the inside and 8.5' long. All the square one's I have seen are too wide. My sides are 18" high so again the S250 will be perfect. It will leave a...
I have been looking at building a custom set of bows and a cover for Bob D. Deuce and then it hit me, Put a shelter in the back for trips. I think the one's used for the CUCV are just the right size. X, Y, AND Z are about what the custom bed of my truck measures. Any body have one near me in...
I think with the "shortage" of honey bee's around right now you could find someone that keeps bees that would be willing to remove them for you. Bee keepers are capable or doing some crazy things. My dad and I were robbing our bees once and got beat up pretty good. They can be right mean...
I still have the dead 60 amp alternator on the truck and have been caring around the 60 amp pulley I got from White owl in the truck looking for a machine shop. I could just go to one I look up in the phone book but I want to go to one that I have a personal reference to. I will be working in...
STATUS REPORT!!!
I finally took the truck on the shake down cruise Monday. Hauled 4000 pounds of steel to the scrap yard. Run truck on batteries because I still haven't gotten my pulley on the new alternator. Here's the report:
Drove it about 58 MPH a few times. Seems to ride well and I...
Took some pictures and then forgot to post them. Here's a few. It's worth noting that I used an old lift gate for a lot of my parts. It was easier than starting from scratch.
If anybody wants some bigger pictures that would show detail let me know and I can email them to you. Some are 1.5...
RE: Re: RE: M35 alternator pulley needed
I didn't have a puller quite big enough. I would expect a larger multi-jaw would work.
I ordered a take off from White owl an hour ago. $25 plus shipping. They had new ones for $35 but I'm too cheap. I have not bought from White owl before...
Re: RE: M35 alternator pulley needed
I think they are hard to remove. I was going to make a puller but decided to keep my 60 amp for a spare in case the big one doesn't work right. I think I will call a few dealers if it's a chance they might have one. If I can't find one there I will get...
I need just the pulley for a 60 alternator. I am going to have it bored out to fit a larger alternator. If any of you guys have one for sale I need one. Used is good. Still attached to an alternator is bad, but if the price is right that will work too.
If any body knows if any dealers might...
You guys, I think I replied to everyone and will try to remove a bunch of legs and stuff soon. Might not be this week but I will try. If my wife catches me at the bone yard with all the work she has "asked" me to do this week, I will need a butt transplant due to mine being chewed off
Don't go to all that trouble. If you are willing to spend the money of shipping I have a big pile of old troop seats and I could send you the legs. All I would need is your specific needs and shipping address. PM me.

That was original plan yesterday. I called one of the industrial belt and pulley places here and they do not sell alternator pulleys. The one's you buy for commercial use are not rated for the RPM's and stuff of the alternator. I tried other places and found out that pulleys are usually...
Well I hate to do it, but I need to buy an alternator pulley for the 60 amp alternator. Anybody have one they would like to part with? I do not have time to take mine to a machine shop right now, I need to use the truck today. That also means I am going to mount the old alternator back on the...
It is what you think it is, but I don't know much about them. I don't think it's functional on that truck and I believe to round up all the parts would be quite expensive. CTI might be what's it called?
