That's one way to do it.
When I got my A2 on the road I took a tracing of the dataplate and a photo of it into the DMV and told them I had lost the title to the tuck and could they issue me a new one. Since I had gotten the truck back in 1980 or so I said they had no record of the title and...
If you don't want to use the 6.2 how about trying a 4 or 6bt in the truck. The Multi-fuel LDT motor is too big for the M1010. As stated from bottom of pan to top is about 4 feet in length and yes both the 6BT and the LDT are 6 cylinders, but the LDTs cylinders are much bigger than the 6Bts. If I...
Why yes it is. If you go farther not only do you see how I did the axles but also the extream body work on the cab. I haven't worked on it since August due to other commitments. Maybe this weekend.... sigh.
Whistle...few $350 is a lot for one muffler. You should be able to make up that inch with the flex pipe. Just cut it an inch longer and you should be good. Otherwise I think it should work.
Is that for a stainless steel muffler? If I was going to pay that much for a muffler I would want it...
Good info there Jim. Hopefully it will help him get a title.
MUTT = Military Utility Tactical Truck. This was the title given to the XM151 1/4 ton truck project. The military didn't pick up on the MUTT title, but the civilans did. Much like it's replacement the Highly Mobile Multipurpose...
The font axle has to lay 18.5 inches from hub to frame to be centered on the truck. In order to do this the right front leaf spring has to move out 1.75 inches from it's stock location. It is easier and less expensive to move the spring than it is to shorten the axle. To shorten the axle you...
The truck cab and frame started life as a M34 which was singled wheeled. Like the M135. Then the truck had the bed put on and changed into the maintence truck. This truck is rare and should be restored to original as possible. But that is just MHO.
Do you realize that this truck has a...
 Crushing of the M151 was a demil requirement but generally had to be done by the guy who purchased the vehicle. Never say M880s getting crushed before. Shameful it is.
The M886 and other Dodge 5/4 tons of the late 70s used a Dana 44F which according to my research is the Dana 44 carrier in a Dana 60 housing. From what I've read (and it was on the internet so it had to be true ) the 44F is basically a beefed up version of the 44. If I had a CUCV I would...
If I was going to turn a pickup into a hmmwv I would use one of these.
Urban Gorilla 4x4 Bodies - Home
Get a HMMWV hood and you'de do a double take. Of course the solid axles would be a dead give away.
Someone put a lot a work into the one the OP posted and I agree looks like it would...
I would get the truck and restore it. I've been in this hobby just about 30 years and I've never seen one in person and I've been to a few events in that time period.....that being said I agree with MD in that if it is beyond restoration then maybe a modified call hauler might work. But if you...
There are tire dealers like Coker and Wallace Wade that have 900x16 NDT tires brand spanking new from the factory. They also have the inner tubes for them. They are not hard to find. Just hard on the wallet. But any bigger truck tire like that is expensive.
If you want the 13th Singal Battalion the Markings would be looking at the vehicle front reading left to right (passinger side to drivers side) 1CAV 13S HQ-1 or 1CAV 13S A-10. You would need to decide if you wanted it to be Battalion HQ or HHQ (Head Quarters Head Quarters Company...

That is a pic I found doing a search on Yahoo for vietnam jeep 1st Cav 545 MP Company. A quick web search shows that the 545th served in Vietnam and is still active today...
That's a good looking truck. I don't think many are still around. My budy had one back in the late 80s but he traded it to another guy who traded it to another guy and so on. it wasn't as nice as this one is. Figure if they made 155 of them then maybe one quarter of those left if we're lucky.
