Mine looked good like that from a distance less the white star. I didn't have a star on mine. That's why I thought maybe 10 years later that someone had gotten it and put a star on it and the winch. When I sold mine it had gone to a guy who ran a paint ball place. He was going to use it to...
You will need to figure out how to hook up a clutch peddle. Since you got the engine and trans from the school bus is it possible to get the brake and clutch peddles and replace the old brake peddle with the ones off of the bus? I'm assuming they hang from the dash and not come up through the...
Nice Jeep trailers. 1/4 ton trailers are a bit of a pain to tow behind pick up trucks. The US Military set a standard forbiding soldiers from towing 1/4 tons behind 5/4 tons and larger trucks. The reason is you can't back them up worth a dang. You don't see them in your mirrors so backing...
No... that's not it...sigh. But mine was very similare cept I had shorten the west cost mirrors so they didn't look like elephant ears. I also had done the upgrade to the turn signals though my winch was missing. I just thought my old truck had popped up... :)
First you truck looks very familiar to me can you post a bigger picture of your avitar? I just might be my old one. I could tell by a bigger picture.
Second. I would go over the motors. Change the oil, new plugs, points etc. Clean the carbs and check the fuel and filter etc. Do as was...
Well I got some more work done. Since I'm switching to hanging pedles I decided that I don't need removeable toe boards so I welded them in. I have more welding to do. I ran out of wire... and once I get the cab back into normal position I will weld the inside to clean it up. Anyway here...
I figured what did I have to loose.... If it didn't work and I missed it all up then I could drop a grand or two getting another cab. As it turned out I'm a head of the game money wise. I hope to have a few more pics posted next week.
Put a commo shelter in it and it will look perfect... :) Nice job and painting cammo is not difficult it is just getting the right amount of overspray that makes it hard... Good job on the truck!
I took my canvas top to a boat/camper top place in town and asked him to make it out of vinyl and also connect the top and the back together like a jeep or M35 top. Cost me about $100.00 to have it made and it was nice. Cept the OD was a little off from military color. That was like 12 years ago.
Just looking at the picture you can tell the back two wheels are facing in showing that it's a dual wheel set up. So it's likely a M211. I agree get it hauled home by a company with a drop deck and then work on it at your leasure to clean the gas taken, change the oil, fresh batteries, and go...
If you want to keep it original then yes do a compression test and see what is going on and then change accodingly. If your not concerned about original then you have options from V8 gas motors to diesels. Keep us posted on what you find and what you want to do. Good luck!
On the back of your truck:
On the drivers side you have one normal service brake/tail light and one black out marker light.
On the passinger side you have one Black out Stop light and one black out marker light.
When you take the main lever and click it one click to the right you will have...
