It's possible that the your M151 went from army life to marine life. It is also possible that when it went to USMC that it got the newer rims as there was a MWO (Modification Work Order) to upgrade the rims due to problems with the mag ones.
I was going to say that Beachwood suposedly does GI contracts and has the milspec vinyl. You might give them a call and see if they could make the seat. The thing is is your seat made out of GI vinyl or something some canvas shop had sitting around that the PO put in? It may be harder to...
There should be a natural rotation in the manifold because it is sitting in a saddle, but it should sit flush againts the ports on the head. If you have gaps between the head and the manifold you either have a bad manifold or crud on the head that needs to be cleaned or a bad head. Try taking...
Not trying to be difficult here, but I thought the Marines didn't go to the M151 until the A1s came out. They were using the M422 and M422A1 Mighty Mights when the straight 151s where in service no?
Looks a little like this S-710 - The largest HMMWV mounted shelter but those windows are throwing me off.
Can you show us what the inside of the box looks like?
If you need a new manifold I have one. The trick is to make sure both matting services are clean before installing the gaskets and to use a little goop (RTV etc made for exhaust) on the new gasket and it will seal up no problems.
If you have a leak you may have trouble getting the bolts out...
Here are a few things. M151 had different rims than the A1. The rims were magnesium not steel. They had slots in the rim instead of the holes. The front seats on the M151 had a screw to adjust the seat forward and backwards where as the later 151s had a two position seat. Either closer or...
Eric, A couple of questions. Did you get the metal piece that goes from the cab top to the windshield with this? Also do you plan on pulling the metal liner out and removing the fiberglass insulation and then replacing it or just leaving it as is?
$500 is a good price for that truck. Remember though it ran when he parked it a year ago...which means it wont run now with out some TLC. I agree with above tow it home clean it up and you may find yourself restoring this truck and using the M135 for parts. :)
Ok Bubba let's talk about you... That's some nice machining work you did on the girdle. Is that aluminum or steel? I'm learning a lot on this thread. I'm glad to know that one can basically turn up a 6.2 by adding a 6.5 IP, 6.5 injectors and the turbo off a 6.5. Good stuff to know...
Wasn't a hard question at all....
I agree with Bob there was not a M880 serries truck in dual wheel set up that I'm aware of. Now there were some AF and Navy trucks that were special contract around the same time that may have been sut up that way, but not the M880 serries.
I would like to see pics of the girdle you make and how you installed it. I'm interested in this because I will be working on a 6.2 this winter also. Motor looks good and clean and should work well for you. Is this a 6.2 or a 6.5? I wasn't sure by your first post and if it is a 6.2 what turbo...
I have to agree with the masses. Though if I remember the thing has fins like a home compressor so maybe that's why he is able to run it like that, but if you got the lines and the places to hook them up I'd say just do it.
