    GL-1 Gear Oil Alternative

I said this two or three pages ago. Since the mid 80's the US ARMY HAS BEEN DUMPING GL-5 oil into M35s and the manufacturer has no problem with it. Sure its a much heavier duty oil than it *needs* but one lube is easier to make than 2. *ORIGINALLY* GL-5 oil did have an issue with yellow...

    Brake bleeding hose diameter

Anyone know the diameter of the brake bleeding hose that can fit over the bleeder screw of the wheel cylinders? I bought 3/16 ID hos, and I have 1/4ID fuel line. Will any of those work?

    Seller Responsibilities

I have no idea why people think M35s are hard to drive. Sure they are standard transmission and manual everything (except brakes).. but left turn, turn the wheel to the left, right turn, turn the wheel to the right. There are some nuances to a diesel engines... but no real deal breakers. I...

Best way for me to buy a deuce?

Paying $4000+ for a $1500 truck deserves SOME sort of 'added service'. Get a non-refunable deposit. Solves all your problems. I would meet a buyer a reasonable distance to deliver a truck. Your truck either makes its and the buyer is a happy camper or you learn that your truck is not a 'good...

Best way for me to buy a deuce?

Did you ask for a non refundable deposit to cover fuel? You pay a delivery/origination fee on every new car you buy. The dealer doesn't pay to get the car to the lot, the buyer (you) does. "Knowledge is the result of research, planning, and execution. Experience is what you get when you...

Best way for me to buy a deuce?

I don't mind driving it. I think the dumbest thing they did to the M35 was move the exhaust up by the cab (but it works well for fording). My CCKW is much more tiring (I live in the Appalachian Mts in PA) and the 270 really keeps you busy double clutching for the hills. An M35 has a lot more...

Best way for me to buy a deuce?

I would only consider a 'private purchase' if they drove the thing to me. I kinda have to ask why people think that private sale vehicles are babied and cared for? YOU may baby yours, but there are plenty of people neglecting theirs, or abusing it (all those mudding videos on youtube) or...

J pipe prices ... parts prices in general

Have you tried Kublo's? I don't feel bad by not buying overpriced parts. Its not a status symbol in my book. More $$ for diesel. Lots of places sell tubing.. I bet if you looked you could get one made cheap.. stainless and all. Local muffler/auto shops can be the best source of parts.

The New Deuce And I Can't Wait!

When a new guy says he just bought an MV with a busted transfer case, and he believes that he is getting a near zero time engine that's a red flag. It could be the deal of the decade... most times its not. Why sugar coat it? 'Sweet ride' and 'transfer is shot' do not belong in the same...

The New Deuce And I Can't Wait!

Buy the truck, not the story. At least you got a spare and a title.. that will save you some $$.

    Deuce Brake Parts Sales

Any decent shop can reline them for a pittance.

The New Deuce And I Can't Wait!

Wait, you bought a truck with a bad transfer case that needed to be swapped out? Wha??? Is there a new, out of the crate unit being put in? Or just another mystery transfer case? After he 'fixes it' I hope you are not going to drive it home any great distance. I'd tell him you want to see...

'Awaiting information from another Govt agency'?

Got my notification today! I hope that the email to DLA and the very polite request to check up on it made some difference.

    Kublos Surplus

Just got a NEW volt meter from KUBLO'S DELIVERED for less than every other place is asking for the meter alone BEFORE shipping. His web site is sparse, so e-mail is probably best.

Wis. UNRESTRICTED USE for milvehs info

They should change the V in mVpa to J mJpa (Military JEEP preservation association). What sucks is that a businessman may have to sue the gooberment to obey its own laws with no compensation becuase some life long a55 hat bureaucrat that could never hold down a real job wakes up one day hand...

    DOT-5 from JCWitney

Amazon.com's total price for a gallon is 4x13.89 = 55.56 delivered. Made in USA by an American company. Plus you will only open what you need vs an open gallon can. Win/Win in my book.

'Awaiting information from another Govt agency'?

I am in so many gooberment computers that my name should auto-fill then they type Farb. Now that I think of it.. the only thing that really screws me up on a daily bases is my address. I have a street address but no local delivery. UPS and Fex Ex, and many online commerce sites will not take...

'Awaiting information from another Govt agency'?

I'm at 60 days. Called DLA and opened a ticket. This is the response: "The DLA Accountability office responsible for issuing a Trade Security Control (TSC) clearance advises that your assessment is still pending at this time. The Accountability Office states they received your EUC from...

deuce falls on it face on hills

I don' think you understand what you are saying. Turning up tire pressure to max rated is not going to do anything you mentioned. If you READ THE M35A2 TMs you MUST INCREASE TIRE PRESSURE TO HANDLE THE 10,000 load RATING APPROVED FOR HARD SURFACE ROADS!!! *GASP* You will run much more than...
