For the record, my hard top enclosure for my M939 series truck on the data plate states it is for a 5 ton as well as a 2.5 ton and that is obviously not the case. It is strictly a 5 ton M939 enclosure.
Well, finally started to make some good progress with the second M936A2. Got the motor in and started to bolt on the accessories. It’s nice working on and with rebuilt/new stuff. Things seem to go on like a glove. I am really using the heck out of my other wrecker too.
Unfortunately, I had...
Bruce, find the nsn and I can look it up on FEDLOG and give you a manufacturer and contact info. Sorry to hear about you weekend. I think we all had those types before. If anything, take a picture of the part. I wouldn't be surprised if it were not a standard heavy duty truck switch that I...
You don't buy wreckers for investments or to make money off of. Trust me. You buy it because it is a hobby and you want one. If you strictly look at it from a finacial point of view, then 99% of use wouldn't own a MV at all.
Found the problem. There seems to be a simple bolt/screw adjustment which prevents the throttle linkage from traversing all the way. Looking at my spare, it seems the one on my truck is out a good bet. Just going to turn it in.
Good eye James. One of the pics is Canal Street. The others are taken on St. Charles. Driving the truck in the Garden District can be a feat by itself.
Thanks.

As most of you may know it is Mardi Gras here in New Orleans. Boy, what a time it is.
I was invited by the Krewe of Thoth to have one of my trucks in the parade. Though I did this last year with the M35A2, I wanted something bigger in the parade (I had to try to out-do the NG with thier...
Well, I finally got the spare tire mounted on and the CTIS stuff hooked up. I used the truck's crane to lift it in place. For some reason the stops are taken out of the turn table and the boom can swing 360 deg around. I like that. You just need to be a little more careful swinging by the...
The museum at Camp Shelby has several pieces that share lots with current storage yards. I am positive that what you see belongs to the museum there. Its a nice museum at that.
I see those types at a lot of our Reserve Units. Though we have new ones (quadcons we call them) we usually use them for storage at the Sites and don't use them to deploy with. They are usually rusted really bad.
