Derail:
I don't Wes but he sounds like a great dude .
Oh man, those pics got to me !
I had this 1978 Model 1544 briefly this spring before I traded it for a M931A2 and a pile of cash, wish I had both in the same pic ...
Hey Karl, Tucker Sno-Cat is local to me, give a holler if there ever...
RIP Cevon .
I would kill to have a Huey
My buddy who served during the Vietnam era told me that they would cut the paint with gasoline to dull it down .
It's very durable as stated and basic, open it up to see the brushes and inspect, they are likely the cause, if not just keep looking, a problem with them is often easily seen .
We used to just burn the oil out with a torch on big trucks, common sense has to be applied of course, too much heat can break down the friction material, especially when it is already soaked in oil, you will typically find however that not the entire shoe is soaked in oil or brake fluid...
Oh I'm sure he does, truck is worth a lot more that way .
Trouble shooting this with the seller is the last thing I'd do personally, truck has issues, possibly very expensive issues in the eyes of both the seller and buyer, I would buy it on the cheap and drag it home then ask my friends to...
Screws around the outside of the valve cover should be a 3-53 .
Seems like it would be shorter than the 6 cyl that was originally in it ?
Doesn't seem like the firewall would have to be butchered that hard, I like the hydro boost brakes, somebody has sure put some time into that truck, I like...
Hey Joe, saw you post this yesterday in BnB 4x4 Fab, I was thinking it was a more modern Deuce like an M35A2, they have considerably more room in the engine bay to work with, however the 7.3 is not very long, just wide .
The tape measure is your friend, measure your frame rails and the engine...
What did I do to my deuce this week ?
Well I fired it up, let it run for a spell then took it out onto the road and opened all the low drain points and let the water out for the season, as it's getting considerably cooler up here these days .
I drove it around for about 20 min or so and let...
Hopefully you meant 5' .
I should add of course that this is a 2 person operation with a man at each helm, and the ends of the chain need to be clevis or bolt bound as the hooks obviously would just come undone, I have made due before with getting the hooks tight and zip tying back a link to...
You did not say if it is both front and rear pass lights illuminating or just one .
If it is both, unhook just one and see it it stops the other from lighting up, if it makes zero change then do the the same for the other to eliminate a backfeed situation .
There are a variety of things that...
When I was at the Hammers earlier this year a guy had one about 3 or 4 feet long set up on a crossbar behind his seats in a single open cab pickup with no windows and a noisy engine, it was clear loud and sounded great, couldn't tell you a brand name but I doubt it would be hard to find a...
I love my M1101, I wish I had a few more .
It is bare bones no top or bows, nice and light made from aluminum, beadlock 37" tires, what's not to like about that, great wood or whatever hauler, I converted all the bulbs to 12v and my lifted pickup pulls it like it isn't even there .
I looked at the tires and all they said was OZ Military and the size, also saw no nomenclature plates like on my M1101 trailer .
Thanks for all the info and suggestions everyone, truly appreciate it .
Would like to see you doing what you are describing, recommend live feed in case of a catastrophe .
Have any such vids of dogbone removal that show it actually occurring ?
