I would start by checking all of your battery cable connections again. Make sure all is tight and clean. Some of the angles like to come loose. There are power connections that come up under the board that are bolted on. You can check that those are tight. Starter connections should be checked...
The switch down left by the diag port is a master power switch. Cuts power via the relay in the box mounted right side of the battery box. There is also a manual shutoff on the bottom of that box sometimes. Do you have a crank but no start or no crank? Dash power with the dash switch? 12 and 24...
Looks nice. At least the guy had a neat lawn ornament. If you are good at working on trucks and you can do all the work yourself then you should be ok. If you have to pay someone else to do everything then you will need deep pockets. Good to have a spare truck around.
The driveshafts are already humming away with 2-1 reduction at the hubs. Highway driving already causes wear on the slip joints. Making the trans and drivetrain spin faster is not advisable.
Dont block off the red gladhand. Air will feed back thru the bad check valve and inadvertently release your spring brakes in park. And the truck will roll away. Which just dosnt work out well for anyone.
You need to get an oscilloscope and take a look at the power going to the ups. They can be very sensitive. It could be a slight under voltage issue. Or you are not getting a good sine wave for some reason.
You can download the tms here top section of forum. If the treadle valve/brake pedal works but the parking brake does not I would look at the front red gladhand. Take the cover off make sure its not blocked off in any way. If air is escaping there thats fine just dont block it off. Report back.
Unplug the ctis controller see if any difference. Any error codes on the keypad? Sometimes the dash components need a better ground. You can try running a ground wire to the trans computer to a good solid part of the dash underneath.
There are brake light switches on the treadle assembly. You can check the wires to them. The tm has troubleshooting steps to follow for that issue. Its hard to remote diagnose this stuff.
I believe they are the same. There are two different style of axles. The older ones are steel and the newer cast. I have seen cast ones on older trucks and steel on newer ones though.
