Yes, thank you.
We're unhitched from the trailer and it has 2 locks in it. Hopefully it will still be here when we get back.
Any assistance in the bucket brigade will be greatly appreciated and will be rewarded with volunteer positions and Heineken at the ssgr.
The trailer is totally deadlined unless it's empty and I can drive it home empty on one axle.
I can't stash it because it would be empty when I returned.
The outer bearing is gone and I can't inspect the spindle for usability due to the nut being welded on to the shaft. Even with a hammer and chisel I couldn't get it to budge.
Right now we're considering our options.
Unfortunately, the only thing that seems safe (least "gamble" ) is renting a...
I don't really know yet. I don't really have the tools with me to either pull the hub or swap the axle.
At a minimum, I'd say the spindle and hub, possibly drum. Obviously bearings, races and seals.
I do not know if the spindle is separate on this unit or if I'll have to swap the entire axle.
So we've made it to a motel at exit 44 on I 71 south. We're getting a room for the evening as we don't have a spare axle so there's nothing we can do this evening. Docfarmall apparently has a local friend who is going to try and help us tomorrow morning.
Will update in the morning
Dual axle car hauler with 3500 5 lug axles. Outer bearing failed and hub/spindle and probably drum ruined.
Need to find a way to get it off the shoulder and get it fixed.
Trailer is loaded with gear.
I will try and post more tomorrow but as the show is officially "on", I may not have a chance.
However, I am going to take 2 pics of every single vehicle on display and post them on photobucket so everyone who can't go can at least see them.
Guys, you won't believe how much stuff is here...
jd and all the Kilroy Chapter members are doing a superb job-this convention is going to rule. There are a ton of trucks and vendors here, it's going to be huge.
We have most of our vendor spot set up, much thanks for everyone's help.
I can't wait to get around and look at all the cool...
Then you should talk to the Florida MVPA group. It's up the state chapter to pitch a potential event to the national group and prove they can put it on.
I wish Georgia could get the dukws in a row.
