Only the people who have gone that far with a vehicle can appreciate the difficult journey to get to the point that you're now enjoying.
It's a beautiful job.
Painting the wood was the correct decision.
Can't wait to ride in it in October!

Clintogf neglected to tell you guys she is looking for a DUKW. I can't afford one right now, but she's really interested in one.
I have 6 DUKW rims and 3 M38A1 hoods I can deliver to the convention but they have to be prepaid. I don't have room to bring them back, so I can't bring them with...
I think you guys Mohawk is up the street from me at the local airport. The GAARNG has a dustoff unit and a mild wheeled vehicle maintenance shop there.
I am pretty sure his get-together falls on the same weekend this year, so I doubt he'll be with us.
When will you arrive? Any times you'll be unavailable? Gracias!
Much thanks.
The m-series rebuild kit had a provision for mounting the pto shifter similarly to the single circuit system.
The 1987-1989 factory dual circuit setup has a bracket cast into the master cylinder/pedal mounting assy for the shifter handle.
So both a 1987-1989 takeout will work or the...
Apparently not for sale, plus it would have to be really cheap for me to take that on. He really cut it up.
Anything can be put back together but you're talking about hundreds of hours of metalwork just to get to a starting point of a restoration.
I have some great people lined up for volunteer spots, but we still need more.
If you want to be a part of the world's premier green iron party, we can use you!
That's great, we're looking forward to seeing you again. The rally has grown a lot since you were last here.
I'd like to nominate littlebob's (http://www.steelsoldiers.com/member.php?2137-littlebob) deuce.
He bought a rough looking GSA truck and proceeded to pull it about 70% apart and repaint and refurbish a lot of stuff on it.
I couldn't find a main restoration thread, but he had posted some...
The side markers are part of the taillight circuit (21 I think) so you need to tap into that circuit.
I have an A3 bed and plan on doing what you're doing, but I haven't bothered to look at the M35A3 wiring schematic to see where the sub harness for the markers integrates with the rear harness...
Probably no earlier than Wednesday. The skeleton crew there before then can probably manage it.
Also, edited post #1 to reflect that.
Oct. 8-12, 2014.
Also, post #1 edited to reflect that.
Noted.
I will be putting up the 2014 Ga. Rally info thread very soon. Rally is Oct. 8-12, 2014.
I am asking for volunteers to either post here or pm me what they'd like to do and when they will be available. Please do not volunteer unless you know you are coming to the rally and are willing to make...
I don't think either job is really easier....... the winch has a lot of work where you're standing up and comfortable, but the transfer swap is almost all under the truck or leaned over the cab. The winch is more work but most of it is easy.
Buying a sprag transfer winch truck and then...
The master?
Unless someone in the past redid your truck with homemade hoses, that's not the case. There is a double flared hard line that carries brake fluid from the master to the airpack, then a double flared hard line that carries fluid to various distribution blocks on the vehicle. There...
