About a case of brake parts cleaner per wheel is what you really need for a brake job on our trucks. You might have to cross a border to get it though. Most brake parts cleaner is prohibited for sale in Cali because of the yuppies and treehuggers.

No, my memory is just crap. I could have sworn the spindles were riveted onto the rear housings. Would make sense to make them replaceable. I have a rear wheel that needs servicing soon so I'll have another look soon.
So they took a semi- reliable truck and made it a nightmare to repair... The intercooler is awesome. Same can be done with our normal A2 trucks, but I can do without all the electronic junk. Still, that is really cool that you came across such a rare bird.

I've never taken mine apart that way. I've taken them completely down, and the drums look like that. Maybe it is just the angle of the pic and how it is layed out. Looks different.
I see now, the shield is still on it. Makes the hub look thicker. It is a front hub.
You can remove the hot rivets from the rear spindles, machine them, then reinstall with grade 8 or 10 bolts and nuts with good lockwashers. Same as the front spindles. They are bolted on and they stay. Otherwise, what happens if you loose a rear wheel bearing and damage the spindle? Replace the...

I'm just going to change the whole chunk out. I'll pull the bed, lift the chunk out with my wrecker, drop the new chunk in, then put the dropside I have back on there.
Just have to order a third member to housing gasket.

If the fuel shutoff lever moves freely ( the little lever under that two screw cover, should move back forward to the 7 o'clock position) then the button keeper has fallen off of the hydraulic head stem. You will need to pull the hydraulic head and reinstall the button and keeper.
