so there is a snap ring on the front of the water pump shaft. should i assume the pulley is on the shaft with a key and will just pull right off?? has any one taken one off before? i'm going to make a custom pulley to drive an a/c compressor.....

use the idle speed adjustment screw, see manual. any small amount of dirt or operating with out fuel primed, the stress on things when you had the fuel control misaligned may have been enough to hurt a already worn plunger. run it and if it gets worse get a new head, not repairable. new heads...
