this would be a really bad choice for any deuce as it is not overdrive and only uses the top 4 speeds for on road use. very old, no parts available, etc. used in a lot of civilian trucks early 60's. a 3060 would be much better. (without the P it is not so long)

the michelin 14.5R20 is almost an exact tire replacement. when i last checked soft tops were still available and in extremely good like new condition still in sealed bags. in 8 wheel drive they will go anywhere a tracked vehicle will.
i still want to know how water gets into brake system with silicone fluid and no one can tell me............... i think this is just some ones paranoia
there is a 1/8" pipe plug on top of the intake that has 'vacuum' at idle, but you are wasting your money with this type of thing. just put a cleaner in with the fuel.
a huge improvement can be had with hella h4 headlights and the illegal 100 watt bulbs. fits right in place of the original headlights and requires no wiring changes.
if the air pack is leaking internally, the fluid will go into the vent lines and may even find its way into the fuel tank and not ever be seen as an external leak. what to do? if fluid in going down, you have a leak. pull all wheels and inspect, rebuild or replace the air pack.
i'm pretty sure it is just pipe thread. you can use teflon tape just be sure none of the tape is allowed to get inside the fitting. there is almost no pressure here, just a return line. while you are there you should consider replacing all the 30+ year old nylon lines with air brake line.
take the timing pointer cover off, it's the little cover with 4 small bolts on top of the advancer unit. line up the pointer and look at the balancer to see where it is.
all good advise, but just to help a little, the old shaft you used to install disk should slide in and out VERY easily. just hold it so you have the weight of the shaft and gently slide it, it should move freely. this will help later.
you want to 'eye up' the trans to have it square with the...
most brake hoses are fabric braid as the pressure is quite low. m-series rebuild has a kit but for you guys, well just don't ask the price. it is all new parts and about as much as another truck.
as for water in silicone fluid system?? i don't believe anything i have read is anything more than...
could be from bad injectors, called slobbering. turbos don't have seals. see how much play is in the turbo shaft. no end play allowed, you will feel radial play but not really see it.

i must say i have never heard of the keys shearing, so i doubt it is common at all. there are 2 of them. what is common is 2nd gear seizing to the MS. if the hub is split, it MAY not have damaged the MS, but they are cheap as are all the parts. i would just buy a good used trans, usually $200 or...
spicer trans:
first number = torque rating x 100
second number = internal specs, varies
third number = number of forward speeds
fourth number = 2 direct final, 3 od final

i think the sound you may be hearing is the clutch pads chattering on the flywheel. the clutch of this type should never be slipped. just in and out, do not slip it to start off or when shifting. shift to gear let clutch completely out and then apply power.
