they had the highest output lds engine made, i may misremember but i thought 202 hp. but with an automatic and with that weight vehicle about as fast as a non turbo deuce. the slightest hill was also a problem. on the other hand they would go anywhere a tracked vehicle would go.
apart from the novelity, why would anyone want one? very poor mileage, low on power, top speed 45 only if you push it real hard. not to mention almost no spare parts anymore and a 40 year old allison 6 speed auto with no overdrive......... oh and a rats nest of plumbing tor the very poor wedge...
2800 rpm govenor is not something anyone should want. way past red line. will break something eventually. head can be swapped in about an hour, for pump start with removing radiator.
if it has no brake fluid, it went somewhere. not just a case of add some and be ok. there is a leak. removing driveshafts will gain absolutely nothing, just put transfer in nuetral, trans also if you want, makes no difference. trucks tow best with good front tires and high air pressure. keep in...
don't agree. as someone who has done things like this many times, the compressor mount will be the hardest. everything else is a walk in the park. the unit i would use is a typical under dash unit, but i would mount it inside on the ceiling at the rear facing forward. it is 5 1/2" high so there...
way too expensive. i can buy evap unit for $260 (22,220 btu), compressor for $135, condenser for $90, rec/drier $25 plus hoses and some brackets you get the picture. these are all retail prices on new parts. do it yourself for $800+- or get used parts like i did my last truck and spend about...
so if the incorrect filter does not flow enough air, why is it that i still get 14 psi boost? could it be that the military was just anal about filters?? or that some desk jockey did the math and said this is what it should be?
pinion brakes are for parking only. they are very dangerous if applied while moving. they don't stop the wheel just the driveshaft, one wheel may spin backwards while the other goes forward = no control.
from what you say, you pulled the shut off cable and it stopped. the problem is that the fuel rate slider is now at no fuel. it is stuck. the shaft and tip that goes in the fuel rate slider must be very free. from your past posts it was not and you have a problem in the ip head you put on.
this is why my od gear set is better than adding higher ratio to the diffs or taller tires. all gears are the same except for 5th. 65 mph is no problem and average hills don't make much difference with the fuel turned up.
many of you have hit on good ideas, i have dual air over hyd brakes with...
if you have a u-joint axle you don't use grease, that is only for the very old cv-joint type. if it is the inner seal leaking, did you check and clean the vent valve?
depending on why you think you need to replace the injection pump, you should seriously consider just replacing the hydraulic head. it is far easier to do as you do it right in place, and is probably the only part that may be bad.
