When you cap the ports, make sure you remove the brass plugs from your old pump and put them into the ports of the new pump, don't just use the caps, that won't work. The cap doesn't do the sealing, it simply forces the tapered brass plugs into the holes to seal them off.
Keep in mind that one of the biggest problems with those pumps is not that the don't run, but rather the check valves get stuck open or closed. These are very simple pumps to disassemble and clean if they get messed up. If either one of the check valves gets stuck the pump will not work, and if...
Got a trash can full of pretty much everything under 2' but I have to admit it's probably not the greatest idea as everything on the bottom gets lost and forgotten about.
for larger stuff I got a metro cart rack from work that is great for sheet goods in the center, heavy plate etc. on a bottom...
I'm thinking you may not want to know the price... NEW, but... many of them have sold at auction really cheap, sometimes as little as $0.50 per gallon of capacity, often times with a dispensing pump and filter setup included. Some even end with no bids at all. I'm thinking the issue is probably...
Wow, yea, wonder how I messed that up! Sorry about that, I confused you with another SS member ( a bit closer than TN ) with the same problem on one of his machines. Maybe I should stop reading this forum late at night and go to bed instead!
Swapping out the entire AC reconnect box is much easier than wrestling with the wires through the CVT to the switch, but for what they want for one you can buy another whole parts machine cheaper.
Chris, if you want to verify the AC reconnect box components are the only issue, when you come up...
When you checked the voltage, where did you pull your DC- from? You need to test from the block to the plugs. I once had a similar issue where I had 24V when probing from the glow plugs to the main terminal block ground screws inside the control panel, but upon closer inspection I only had...
There are a few aftermarket options out there with drain valves on them, but I don't recall ever seeing one with the side outlet for the drain hose. All the ones I have seen just have a petcock on the bottom with no place to attach a hose.
The original style should be perfectly fine to use...
You should be able to easily solder up that crack without removing the radiator, but if you prefer to send it out, any radiator shop will solder and pressure test it pretty cheap.
It's also interesting that the TM shows the flywheel and ring gear as 2 separate parts. So maybe there is a totally different ONAN PN for the complete assembly not shown in the TM??
I also see that GM lists the "Flywheel" as being 12" x 12" x 6" and 2 pounds?? It's more like 60lbs.
So maybe...
Its funny that no matter what PN listed above you research, not much info is available. and no pictures.
Here's where I got my info.
https://greenmountaingenerators.com/product/mep802a-mep803a-flywheel-onan-186-6467/
Green mountain lists 186-6467 as the Onan PN for an 802/803 flywheel for $995...
A new flywheel isn't gonna be cheap unless you can find someone parting out a machine.
Here's a new one but it's almost $300... which is still better than the $1000 GM Generators wants!
https://www.smallenginesprodealer.com/part-onan-186-6467/
There are others available, but more expensive.
Just...
Nice work Mitch. With how bad those injectors were combined with the governor being messed up I can't believe you were actually able to use that machine at all
You should be good to go now, 7500W is pretty impressive for an 002, they usually max out quite a bit lower than that!
Something sounds wrong with your star adjuster nut. The spring should be about 3 turns up from the bottom. If it is too high you will have too little Governor control ( and excessive droop ) and your throttle cable adjustment may also not be within the correct range.
When you move the star wheel...
As LITD mentioned earlier, the 50Hz. machines were clearly advertised as such. The title of the listing was different and the tags clearly showed 50Hz. and were advertised as 50 hz Export machines not Mep-831's. It will be interesting to see if you received the wrong machine or if they mixed up...
I would suggest to start with the temperature sensor and the air louvers. Make sure the louvers are opening correctly etc. The failure mode sounds like either over temp, faulty temp switch, or faulty oil pressure switch.
I'm leaning more towards the temp switch in your case.
If it's hunting up and down rather than just bogging down I would tend to suspect the governor droop is set too sensitive.
Check the TM, the drop screw ( allen head screw ) is located under the 3/8" pipe plug in the timing cover, just forward of the throttle lever. The TM explains how to adjust it.
