From what I've been researching it is best to have a coalescer and a filter/ separator, and in that order too. Even clean diesel fuel has water content and is hygroscopic, so it can't hurt. The cummins filter processing station seems like it does all that on the truck, but I also want to keep my...
Yes. I have a Napa waterblock 10 micron filter with water drain as my primary on the truck, and a goldenrod filter assembly with waterblock filter on the tank output line, as well as one of the big cartridge load tactical filter assembly's inline in my pumping setup. I'm still getting cloudy...
I finally adjusted my driver side door so it closes smoothly, lubed all my latch mechanisms, window regulators, and tracks. Also oiled my tach and speedometer cables. FINALLY got my driver side windshield (new) to close by heating the rubber gasket with a small propane torch very carefully...
Yeah I have one of those in there and it hasn't done diddly. They only absorb free water. Though with these lower temps some of the water has been precipitating out of the fuel, it still has a high water content. Visibility through the fuel is only about 3-4". I'm thinking that if I were to...
Joe, looking at that key and the way that damper hub broke, I would say that is your cause of failure. You need not worry about a second seal, and you can apply silicone sealant to the key way to help seal it.
see how it has worn the key way slot by the crankshaft too? That is no good.
Exactly. When I park on a shoulder I turn my wheel to the right though, so if it gets rear ended it will roll into the ditch instead of out into traffic causing an even larger and possibly deadly accident.
High volume low pressure is the key to removing emulsified water from fuel. You do recall I am having an issue with that at present. It may be worth installing in my fueling setup, if not on the truck.
I've been looking at the FH234 series filter setups online and they look very promising. I'm betting they are quite pricey but I can't seem to find a price for any of the units listed anywhere. I would like to put one of these on the deuce if they are as good as the literature suggests and they...
Another thing worth mentioning: when you come to a stop on a roadside, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS check your mirror and watch the traffic coming up behind you for at least 30 seconds or longer before opening your door or even unbuckling your seatbelt. If possible, exit the vehicle from the passenger...
I have a deuce that needs to get to Colorado. It is for my father, and he has offered $1000 cash to whoever delivers it. I was going to flat tow it up to him but decided it it too dangerous to do with snow on the ground.
I will add that it is inadvisable to wear camouflage rain gear without the use of an accompanying reflective vest during roadside events, especially at night in driving rain. Been there, don't that, felt the mirrors scrape my chest and back. That was retrieving a lost 14.00-20 Goodyear and rim...
