I think.the Dexter axle would be a benefit in a bunch of ways. I've towed a ton of M105s with a Chevy truck and my old suburban and they always tow real nice.
Well executed Sir. They are quite a bargain for sure. Wish the 101 series was such a bargain. The only problem with the 105 is it's like dragging a pallet of anvils.
So, I know this is early but since moving has me mostly disheveled, I need reminders about anything I'm bringing for other folks. Odds are extremely high that if you don't remind me, it won't be there.
Check out the helpful threads stickies for the one with fusible links. They often burn as a result of a starter run on. Likely, that will turn up the issue. Good luck.
The original plans were correct for the bushings that he used. The McMaster Carr bushings are not the ones used in the kits he offered. For those folks who still have the kits, use the sizes indicated for a proper fit.
I had one on an M1028 and it worked quite well. Truck was not a dually. Downfall was it eliminated just about all articulation. I really would like to put one on the ambulance but to this date I have not and am now looking to move it to a new owner.
If an axle swap isn't in the budget, is a replacement 10 bolt? The rear may suffer. Here is what I would do. Since you already have 4.10 gears, shop for a suburban 14 bolt. They are usually less that $200 and bolt right in. As long as the gears match the front, its no big deal. Just a thought...
For all we know, they could have moved around the signs and numbers too. At some point the pre rally recon mission will determine all the surprised that await us.
Almost every 2WD dually had that sway bar. Keep looking for trucks being parted or ebay. There is a guy out west (ebay) who has sold a couple for around $200 delivered.
Awesome. Welcome to CUCV ownership. Hot start issues often hinge on temp sensors for the glowplug curcuit or injection pump issues. Looks to be a nice example there.
