right, no gasket. and never use any kind of thread sealing stuff anywhere on the injection system, even on supply lines, especially tape, you could ruin a lot of other parts. mill1970, did you replace with new or known good? just a little wear on parts will keep it from running.
ok, since there seems to be enough interest here is how this is done. i am set to have a shop in baltimore make a gear set to replace the 5th gear set in your transmission now. production should start in about a week or so and should be available by the end of november. in addition to this gear...
if you have the correct sending unit the gauge will 'read' near full scale cold. a 60 psi gauge will read correctly and a 120 will read 120 at 60 and 60 at 30. hope that makes sense to you. i (think) the sender is marked but it sounds like you have the right one and just have not found a good...
the gears are made of same material and to the same standards of the originals.
(a recap of the edited first post)
if you are seriously interested, contact me. the first 5 out of the first production run of 10 sets are spoken for. production may be finished by the end on november.
so that you...
first, the the flow of fuel does not cool the injectors. it cools the ip head alone and enough flow is essential there.
second you do not need the intank pump for anything other than bleeding the system.
right, a 14.5r20 is rated for 55 mph. why? who knows, it is a steel belted radial. does it get hot? no. does it get even warm? not really. i had new ndt 9:00x20's on my last truck and drove at 68 mph for 10,000 miles. they did not seem to care. i think it's like when you get a power tool and it...

.69 overdrive gears available now
i need to know how much interest there is in the .71 overdrive gear set. it involves changing your 2nd gear to the new style with 4 holes in the web and installing a special main shaft that will accept needle bearings for 2nd gear so it will not seize. the cost...
did the hydramatic have overdrive? did it have a lock up convertor? if 2 no answers = very poor choice for low rpm multifuel. the allison would be like driving in 4th all the time. ok for off road but not much else.
any problem on the truck side of the pump would lower the volts and as a result lower the amps, so the problem has to be between the pump and the fuse. you will never know until you put an amp meter in the circuit and see how much the pump draws. if it is not an oem pump it could be much more...
RE: Where to get a pyrometer?
SUMMIT RACING, vdo and is dc amp typeso is much more sensitive and accurate. about $60 for everything. includes fittings, probe, wiring, you will need resistor for 24 volt op avail at radio shack cheap
also if you use the lds pump, plug the 1/4" fitting on the rear of the pump as it is not needed. the designers thought they needed a seal vent but also tied it to the suction internally so they were really just over complicating things and adding the possibility of even more problems.
