I think the reason most folks will switch a 10 bolt to 8 lug is to match a rear that has been transplanted, likely after a 10 bolt rear gave up the ghost. Bigger diameter rotors offer some increased braking as well. I remember when I was an avid off roader with no budget to afford a 60F.
