Sure. They are actually a better slow speed off road truck than a high speed highway hauler. Keep up with your preventative maintenance especially on the engine oil changes and transfer case oil.
Sorry, “parts trucks” sitting around rotting makes no sense to me. I manage a fleet of FMTVs for my fire department and our solution to high mortality, hard to find parts is to stock them on a nice dry organized shelf. Alternator, WTEC controller, keypad, fan solenoid, air brake inversion...
I can read the data plate photo, shows M61A2. The tank that was on it was the original military configuration. Probably an asphalt distributor. That's probably what is still in the tank. You have to heat it up for it to flow out. Well I suppose the tank was kinda useless for a hobby truck...
Very light demand for the "C" windshield. I would be tempted to buy a repro bare frame and swap over the hinges, wipers, hardware etc. Have your local glass shop install a single piece safety glass rather than fool with the ancient two piece glass rubber and twin glass panes.

Better snatch it up before I do for my pickup clone build. The CUCV IIs all had steel rims, shouldn't be hard to find on a junkyard truck.
You can do every performance trick in the book on a NA 6.5 and it will still be pitiful. If the 6.5 has the side mount turbocharger, that is what to build.
