My vote would also be for an M35A2 w/w. Add air lockers to all 3 axles, and stuff a turned up Cummins 5.9L in there, and it will climb straight up a mud wall and go 70mph for less than $10k total.
Watch some youtube videos of each truck, what gets them stuck, and what they can get out of. As...
Just ordered the custom cut polycarbonate sheet for the lens. Nice user-friendly website, and the new 70" long piece was $10 cut to size. Oversize shipping charge from UPS ($17), so $27 total.

They had them in color tints, reflective mirror finishes, smoked...
Any updates here? Sorry to push, but I am hoping to place an order tomorrow (Monday), and the stock injector size would be very helpful to know as the starting point. I could pull one of my own injectors, but if somebody else was doing it anyway, or had one out already, then chicken dinner.
I don't mean to throw a wrench in the spokes, but I thought and have read that the Power Service stuff is mostly alcohol, in order to absorb the moisture in fuel. In lieu of that, it can actually contribute to injection pump damage by reducing the lubricity of diesel fuel to an even lower...
LED light modules added, not wired together yet. Bar is now 70" long, and 420 watts of LED flood and spot lamp power, 24V. Next up is to wire the modules together, test it, and then screw in the reflectors. Then, wait for the 70" x 2-3/8" x 1/8" polycarbonate lens to arrive and install it...
I could not find one this shape, plus I would need the light modules to extend it, the lens fastening bars, the reflectors, etc... It only made sense to buy two and jam them together. It is going well though, exactly as I thought. The welding was low cost and should hold just fine. These are...
Just eBay search 52" or 54" LED light bar. That's it, they are all the same on there, and all coming from the same place, so grab one that ships from within the US and has free shipping. Price is down to about $115 or so each. And they are 24V ready. So for $230, I now have one front and...
Sorry, late for an update. Our local TIG welder is supposed to be one of the top in his trade (Chris Razor, Hi-Tech Welding in Plymouth, MI, featured on Miller's web site), so he was booked 3 weeks out.
Finally got the light bar back, TIG welded together as a single unit now, 70" long. He V...
Does anybody have a loose injector out of an M939 series Cummins 8.3 engine?
I am looking for the info imprinted on the nozzle of the injector. I am having some custom nozzles made for a new set of injectors on mine, and need to know the factory nozzle hole size and spray angle, which is...
Just scored a decent deal ($500) on a 24V Red Dot R-9777 A/C unit, which has 25,000BTU of cooling capacity. Been wanting a rooftop unit to keep cab space open and 3 passenger ability, let alone rear window usage. It is only 8" tall, and comes dark grey. Unit contains evaporator, condenser...
My opinionated answer to your question would be to use the standard 3 post style, that one should not have any additional exciter wires. 100A should suffice as a guess without knowing more details such as intended batteries you will use, duration of time winch is run, etc....
More batteries is...
Agree to all, but we were talking about the sexiest things, not the most dependable or lowest cost. A tire rack just isn't the sexiest thing I have ever seen. Yes, the MV's are way cool.
Kudos.
Does it kill your 12V battery if it sits a few days? I'm not sure, but I think by having the alternator wired up like that, it is always energized?
Also, 15.4V seems a little high, charging voltage should almost always be no higher than 14's. Make sure it is not boiling your lawn...
