I also dont see a problem with "occasional" use, I need to road test, get fuel etc. A road test is "maintaining" it. It needs to be driven some or won't run when you want it to.
What I dont like is laws like these start the ball rolling for more laws. For the most part, Have you ever saw any...
You could be right. I hope your wrong as well.
One thing I hope for, is the chances of someone using a vehicle over 10k as a daily driver are minimal. Maybe they took that in consideration. Ok, I know wishful thinking that soemthing they did was well thought out.:cookoo:
I really hate laws of any kind, but guess they are needed. I do see the reason the state needs to do something about the historic tag issues. Almost everday I see a complete piece of junk on the road with historic tags. Rust holes completely through the body.
I am not sure what the answer is...
We had several people surprised that we owned these and that they were not military. Also had a few ask why would we have these? Of course there are several good answers for that.
1, Because we can
2, Because they are way bigger than a hot rod
3, Because it brings attention to our troops
4...
It belongs to Hottduck and has to be the cleanest MV I've seen. I'm sure if you PM him he can give you some info on it. Great truck. Cool thing for me was, I hadnt seen a M923 since I was in the Marines. I was lucky enough to have drove all 3 in the service
Thanks, was actually having trouble posting thats why the short note with no pictures. Got tired of writing it all up and not going through.
It was fun, fire trucks a couple tractor trailers and lots of equipment, tractors etc. Kids blew the air horns untill there was no air left in the tanks...
Took our trucks to a big truck show on Saturday. Was a show to let kids get an upclose look at trucks and equipment. Was a great turn out fo kids. All had a blast playing in and on the trucks
The awesome looking M923 belongs to Hottduck and the M35/M105 and M813 is ours. Maybe next year can get...
Have tried several times to post a new thread in the conversation section. It goes to a page that says web site unavaliable. I noticed I can reply to an excisting thread.
I have no idea if something I'm doing wrong. I cant imagine what as Ive posted before.
Thanks for your help.

I knew I could depend on you for an idea.
I still appreciate the phone conversation about the forward/reverse sprag and why they would build tension if rotated opposite of engagement. [thumbzup]
Hey good idea, I will try to turn "bent" part up, if I can feel it. If can fit some thin flat bar in there, just might work enough to get out. Hey your worth something!!! :p
Thanks!!! I'll let you know how it goes.
I have had the nut, spring and lever off. The pin will not come out. Thats why I know it feels bent went rotating it, its not siezed/rusty like I first thought. Thats why I suspect it was put in gear with the pin engaged. I can sort of feel the bent end, which is what I believe can happen if...
I am thinking about putting a nut and spacer on it and pull it out. Gently. Maybe it will straighten enough to come out, if not it will break and I'll have to pull winch to get the other end. On the other hand if I mess with it I can get it to engage, and I put a zip tie on the cable and chain...
I know these are not MVs but on many of our new digger derricks and buckets with front winchs we have had to bypass the pto switch as well as parking brake switch. They couldnt pull themselves out.
I'm assuming the winch on the M916 was designed to pull equipment onto a trailer so was never...
I'm sure its something they over looked, but we always leave winches "out of gear". At work we have over 100 front bumper winches. Even with hydraulic driven winches, the operators are instructed to leave dis-engaged. We use capstans on the ends for pulling rope or wire and Ive seen operators...
I can only imagine that "any" exhaust is not good for you. Doubt it took a study to determine that. I try not to stick my head in the stack much. :-D
The diesels we have now are so messed up with emissions, they are almost not relaible anymore. Lots more days out of service, all for emission...
