It still has that new truck smell in the cab.
Only 11,000 miles on the clock and the paint is still on the 5th wheel.
I did some research on the bumper numbers and the truck came from an Alabama National Guard unit just south of Montgomery.
I tried to call them to see if they still have...
If the batteries are graveyard dead you are going to need two anyway.
If you slave off a truck with dead batteries and drive it off the lot you will not have any lights and your in tank fuel pump may not work.
As stated above running with dead batteries will kill an expensive alternator...
Here are pics of the dash. Mine is missing the WW switch......prob a common "midnight parts run" item.
When Bighurt came down to pick up his M915 we had to replace the light switch....the one he put in went FUBAR and I replaced it with one I got at NAPA.....since I only drove during daylight...
The folks at Durhamtown always go the extra mile for us.......we appreciate all the help they give us to help make the event a success.
I have a couple miles yellow of surveyer tape I'll throw in the van in case we need it.
That's because engineers and designers never have to work on them.
I think that there should be a rule that you cannot design anything unless everything on it is accessible and can be repaired with common hand tools.
Most engineers and designers are educated way beyond their intelligence level.
I have spoken to Clinto about taking the T-shirt concesion....I have alrady got a quote from a local vendor.
If I order 200 in various sizes I can sell them for 12 bucks.
Expect a MV theme with possum highlights.
I will try to post a couple of designs and let the faithful decide on the...
The WWII model would look a lot less correct behind a newer deuce.
Buffs have a cool factor and in your case can be a practical asset....keep looking...one may pop up in your area.
My issue with the Sprag is that you cannot shift into all wheel drive when you want to.
The sprag engages when the rear wheels spin.......often too late to get you out of deep doo doo.
I drove the sprag trucks in Germany in the 70's and got stuck several times because of that issue.
Doc....what is the damage on the trailer....would you take a big arsed military gasser air compressor in partial trade????? It is already in the back of my van trailer so it is making the trip reguardless.
Sounds like we will have a super kitchen this year.......I may drag the big diesel fired water heater setup along since I can't seem to find a buyer for it.......but we will need a 3 phase genny to run it.
I thought I read that someone was bringing one.
My 10K has three phase but unless I...
How soon do you need them?
If you make a deal with patracy then maybe they could get up to you via the SS Freight Express....the GA rally is coming up in OCT.....lots of folks from FL and up your way will be there.
Just a thought.
Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy:cookoo:
The first place to start is to obtain a Technical Manual (TM) and read it back to back.
You can find them posted here or you can get a hard copy from several sources.
Search is your friend on this site.......many of your questions have...
The chain on the wheel is the best visable deterrent......but you can still crank and move the truck with it in place.
A determined thief will have a way to beat most systems........what is more common are the jugheads that think they have a right to joyride in someone elses vehicle.
With...
Is yours equipped or stripped?.......it would be great to put them back to back and have a food prep area adjcent to the cooking set up.
I plan on getting there late Tues night.
Wear your britches with the BIG pockets in them to own and operate the beast.
I drove the M916's in the Army. I love the CAT tranny as long as someone else has to pay the repair bills....they are not a common civy transmission and finding a mechanic to work on them can be a challenge. Soni...
