RE: Re: M211 artical
OK, here's my question: Did the truck he talks about have a REB kit on it? I don't think he actually says it does, but he says the passenger told him to choose his own gears and not to let the transmission think for itself and that things went much smoother from that point...
My fathers truck is running oil. It behaved the same way after cleaning it. He's going to drop the pan next and check the pickup and pumps. It doesn't have the REB kit. I would think fluid restriction from either mis-adjustment as ACE pointed out, or from the pump or loose clearances, but again...
Exactly. The problem is that when you start to re-charge the batteries in series with a 28V alternator, the one that is low will need more current, but they will split the available current. So, the other battery will be getting overcharged while the one used for 12V power is still trying to top...
Boy, that sounds sort of familiar. My father's M211 is suffering from a similar problem. It likes to shift into second, but not into 3rd or 4th. He's cleaned the valve body, but we haven't got to the bottom of it yet... :(
I'll post if/when we figure it out.
Oops, I found out today that we're in the yellow section R&S, spaces 4-9, not the blue section.
The troop seat uprights and front rack are gone. Still have the exhaust, bumper, doors, radiators, engine, wheels & miscellaneous parts.
Re: Duece dump M342A2
Not with all of the advertising... I doubt it would make it anyway, but we can always wish. Bruce is right, it'll go crazy if it gets there because everyone will put it on their watch list (rightfully so) and GL will see this popularity and move it up in the sale and make...
My M1009 has one and I thought about putting one on the M1028A1. I'm sure you can pick them up somewhere, but I'm not sure where. It is a nice feature to have.
I think we will also have a drivers and passenger door (complete) in nice shape. The Drivers glass has a small crack near the bottom, I think.
The engine has the radiator and headlights/grill still attached. If we have time, we will try to rig it up so we can start it at the show for anyone who...
Gimpyrobb,
Let let me check. I might have them.
Carmen,
I don't have any bare wheels, just the 6 with tires. I think 2 have usable tires, the other 4 are poor.
My father and I should have some parts at Aberdeen for sale. He might also have his M211 for sale.
Anybody need anything specific? Here's the short list of the bigger stuff I think we'll be bringing...
6 - M135 Wheels/tires
1 - Exhaust system (I think it is complete)
1 - Engine (runs well -...
The vacuum valve on the injection pump is the main control of shift points. Rotate the top of it toward the front of the truck to increase shift RPM and rearward to lower it. Be sure to check the vacuum lines for leaks as well.
The adjustable modulator from B&M replaces the stock modulator on...
RE: VIN
Quick and easy way: 4th character is the GVW indicator. It's an "H" on a M1028/A1/A2/A3, M1031, M1010, a "G" on an M1008/A1, and an "E" on an M1009.
The RPO codes in the glove box or looking in the engine compartment are the only way to tell the 200-amp system from the regular setup...
I know Hagerty insures "specialty" vehicles of almost any age, so I would imagine the other companies would do so as well. I have an 86 Shelby GLHS insured through them, even though it does not yet qualify for historic plates in MD...
Oh, and congratulations! HEMTT's are very COOL!
The rear axle is narrower than the front, but it's like 76-77" outside. If you have a regular car trailer, you can back it on, but 73-74" won't cut it. If that is really the case, tow bar it...
Re: RE: Re: RE: M1028A1
From my knowledge, all M1028A1's started as M1031's and were fitted with beds as your (and my) MWO plates indicate. Dual rear wheels can be fitted, but the rear axle is different on the duallies. The truck in my avatar is my old M1028A3. Those and the M1028A2 trucks...
Re: RE: M1028A1
That is a Dodge CM body, as Kenny pointed out. Does it have an M1028A1 conversion plate on the door jamb under the Mfr plate? If not, then the truck is probably a straight M1031. What does the Shipping and Dimension data plate on the door say?
The driveshaft from a regular cab...
