On my tan Deuce, I put two 12v power outlets in the large holes in the dash to charge phones with or any other 12v devices like maybe a dash cam. What they are originally for is a mystery as both of my Deuces came with the holes plugged with the metal plugs. Keep working on the truck even if you...
I think that we have found an extremely poor example of how to tow your trailer & the worst possible vehicle to pull it with. I hope they are just recovering it with a few mikes to go.
The EUC is just another government hoop to jump thru & after your first one, the rest are no real problem. It keeps buyers that want to export these trucks from being able to get them which we don't want in the first place. Bid on the truck you want & if you win it, fill out the EUC & wait a...
Make sure your super rope is good & not brittle. Install it as Back2Wyo previously posted & keep each side even on the bed as it hangs as you tie it down. If you don't like the valleys in between the ribs on the top (they catch water & snow) you can add 3/4" foam board insulation in between(on...
Yeah, James is a one of a kind that I am proud to call a friend. He will give you the shirt off his back if he thinks you need one. His only problem is that he hates to have stuff done for him for some reason.
:funny:
It better be a container of Dot 5 brake fluid that somebody left it there by mistake. There is a bit of hydraulic equipment on the FMTV's, but it has nothing to do with the brakes.
I store my diesel in the LMTV & the two Deuces fuel tanks to start with as backup & the Scepter 5 gallon fuel cans I got from GL a few years ago as immediate fuel needs for the generator to keep me from sweating during a storm induced power outage.
Is there an age limit for them? Filling your order is going to be next to impossible if there is. What the heck is a trisexual, never heard that one before?
After two years of owing a M-1081, I finally scored a cover from a member here @ the Dunham show. What size are the Allen head bolts that hold the cover on the truck? I have never seen one & my cover won't be home till next week & without the set of bolts. There are several places I can source...
Sounds like you are off to a good start now that she proves she runs. Are you having any air brake issues with pressures or leaks; if not, take her out for a short drive to check her out.
Run the Hawkers until they die, you have already paid for them, so put them back in & button it up. The other batteries will serve you well in another application that is probably non military related. Mine have been in the truck for almost two years & work fine.
Those tow bars are the ticket for heavy towing, but I used one that I have to tow my new Deuce home from auction with no problem. If only one person is installing it, it has to be installed in pieces due to the weight & bulk. There are still several crates of them NOS in one of my Humvee...
I installed a NOS 5 ton cargo truck cover that I got from the Mt Dora MVPA winter meeting this past weekend. It cost me $20.00 & was never used. It is a little short, but still work for what I want & will last for many years in the Florida sun.
I forgot to tell that the cover went on a M-1082...
I let a friend drive my Deuce & he broke the spring with his crazy shifting somehow. NAPA can match your spring if you can bring both halves to them like I did to get you going again. It cost around $6.00 IIRC.
Get the newer style Haldex dryer from vendors here. I played the repair the cylindrical dryer game (full of goo) long enough to find out I was wasting my time & bought one from Suprman. Here is a picture of the install. No more problems now.
Truck all packed and ready to go, I will be pulling out in a few minutes for the road trip. Weather is clear & dry, but also record high heat for this time of year 82 degrees is the forcast high with 60 being the low. Great weather! See ya'll there!
