I, for one, don't want to bring a bunch of stuff to worry about trying to display & sell, only to have to take it back home for the next show. Going to the show is good enough for me just to see all the sights & old friends again. See you folks there next weekend.
The M-1082 is the LMTV trailer of choice that weighs 7k empty. That said, here is how I rigged my lights for the trip home. Unlike the OP, & only had to go 75 miles home, not 650. Make sure you check your hubs frequently @ the start of your trip for over heating.
They are more fun to pull with the Deuce or the LMTV as you don't even know it is back there till you go to back up, then you need a backup camera or/and a spotter. The recovery of the second M105A2 (I won two trailers for that auction) was done with the Toyota as I had to be back to work early...
Isn't it 1.5" like the Deuce is? Should be the same tires also 9:00 x 20" with the rim matching the Deuce front tires. Correct me if I am wrong some one.
Good luck on your recovery. What are you towing it with?
A Toyota Tacoma 4WD will tow it if you watch your stopping distances closely.

Not yet, but I can almost promise that there will be some good stuff show up as always. I am never disappointed in the treasures that guys seem to find to bring & sell. We shall see in a couple of weeks.
I just hook a Genius G7200 charger up to the port with one clip hooked to ground(-) & the other to a empty .50 cal shell in the positive(+) port & leave it till the green ball stays solid. One day I will the correct plug. The Deuce won't work this way since it has a dual port plug. A bolt takes...
Wes is a one man show that can move any reasonable load where you need it. He did a great job getting my M-1082 from Ft Bragg home to me here in Gainesville, Florida. Just another good shout out to a man who deserves it. Happy customers are the best advertisement.
As long as the night temps are not below freezing, I will be there for the entire weekend for primitive camping & fun. Always want to see old friends & meet new ones. Swap meet stuff is always good to bring & take somebody elses stuff home. See you guys & gals there!
I know I am going away from the original posters questions, but this will answer the last post. Sandcobra, thanks to you, the trailer got excercised for a while till it came home. Thanks for everything & I hope Wes delivered that cold beverage to you as promised. Here is a picture of the yard...
James, you are correct on the location of the M105a2. I have picked up 4 trailers out of there & it is a breeze. I used the Toyota 4x4 Tacoma to pull them back to Gainesville with no problems from DOT or the local LEO( maybe they were busy those days). Braking was as simple as watching the...
For the last few years, I have watched GL auctions & found some good deals in my area. The triwall scrap deals were a big hit or miss for the short time they were offered until they realized there was better money to be made not listing as scrap. Now that GP is taking over GL's contracts, we...
Brakes work great with the Deuce air system as noted on the way home. The airlift brackets will stay with both the M-1081 & the M1082 units as that is the way they came from the military. There are others who want to remove them for weight reductions, so you can source a set there.
The M-1082...
I forgot to ask this question in the last post. The hold down straps that keep the cover frame on the trailer, where do they tie down? There does not seem to be anywhere to tie them except the hooks on the fold down sides & that can't be right.
After 9 months of waiting & agonizing on how to get this trailer out of Ft Bragg & down to Florida, it has finally come to roost @ my home. The issue started with a blown pickup by the trucking company that I hired to pick it up. Thanks to Wheelspinner, Wes Simpson & Sandcobra for all putting a...
