The very first thing to do is make sure the batteries and fully charged and load tested. Without known their condition at first you can spend many hours chasing your tail.
Then make sure all you cables are tight and clean.

The oil preassure sensor is on the back side of the engine next to the vacuum pump (think gasser distributor. You can get a manual gauge with an adapter and intall it in place of the sensor.
There is also the low coolant sensor controller board next to the fusebox.
Many times the sensor will buildup a coating the causes it to give a false reading
You can move the alternator from the drivers side to the passenger side with no problem.
Do not get rid of the bad alternator. Spend $50 for a parts kit and rebuild it.
