What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Yes, IIRC the HEMTT wheels are only needed for 16.00s to keep from rubbing at full lock in one direction.

    Cooking oil as coolant?

Now diesel… that might make a better coolant. Instead of peeing in your fuel tank, drain the radiator in the fuel tank then pee in the radiator.

Picking up a Bridge Erection Boat on Cradle

Typical rollback would probably work fine as well, especially if it’s deck was a little higher than yours.

Picking up a Bridge Erection Boat on Cradle

Tail roller would be nice, but I think any redneck with a wrecker and a little talent could get it loaded. If not a rotator should do the trick…

    Cooking oil as coolant?

The problem for most of us with cooking oil would be it’s freeze point in the winter. I think animal based would be completely out of the question, certain plant based may be tolerable for some of your warmer climates.

    5 ton not starting

Sounds like OPs got this. Where’s @doghead when you need him? I’ll be out behind the big red dumpster reading my TM’s until he shows up…

    5 ton not starting

Can you post a picture of this fuel pump, guessing someone put an aftermarket inline on it? The brake light and buzzer are controlled by the failsafe module up on the drivers kick panel behind the dash. These are very common to fail, but should have nothing to do with the fuel shut off. Start by...

Working on your M934a1? Will the starter still crank the engine?

    M911 Building air slow

Also soap the air tanks checking for rust holes, especially in the bottoms.

    M911 Building air slow

I would double check the drains and anything else you touched while repairing the one. Use a soap water mix in a spray bottle. How quickly does each tank bleed down after shutting the truck off with touching the brakes?

Anyone know what the MRAP wheel part number is for aluminums for gov planet?

IIRC there was only one or two MRAP variants that ran the 8.75 bolt circle, Caiman maybe? But I don’t think aluminum would clear the drums for a spare on your 920, and 16.00s would still be way too heavy for your pickup. @simp5782 could confirm all of this.

    Refreshing my M1061A1

How hard would it be to ditch the back legs and move the axles all the way back on the trailer?

Anyone know what the MRAP wheel part number is for aluminums for gov planet?

@RPMRPM this question really needs to be answered or you might end up with something you cant use, aluminum or not.

New to me m923a2 jack & jack stand recommendations?

For jackstands I use the 6 toners as they are the perfect height for 14.00’s but mind you my front end is right at capacity with the winch and all the other junk I have mounted on the front of my truck, and would be way over if I had to use them with a load on the rear. I like to have my tires...

New to me m923a2 jack & jack stand recommendations?

Would be nice to know what your intended purpose for the truck is? 395’s may be a better choice, kind of a derail but it’s your tread…

rear end bounce at lower speeds

I’d start by rotating the tires to see if anything changes.

    M939 series rear axle seals

IIRC this is NOT correct for the M939a2 as for which the thread is titled. You should be fine running the outer on an M939a2 in an oil bath but would still need to grease the inner bearing due to the CTIS seals blocking the path between the bearings. Also I did not reread this old thread.

    M939A2 Truck bed

98G is correct almost exactly 2000 pounds, for just the bed with no troop seats. I weighed mine when I had it off.

Swap old gasser motor for a Chevy LS 6.0L Vortec?

If your going through the trouble, might as well find an 8.1
