What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

If the cotter pin was still through the castle nut and not sheared off, you likely have a pinion bearing problem that will need addressed.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

If I thinking correctly I think jack stands are rated per pair? If so 5 ton stands could be too light for a 5 ton truck depending on which axle, cargo load and truck variant.

Has the trans fluid debate been settled yet?

Mine had what I’m guessing was 10wt in it, and always shifted and work excellent, old fluid looked clean as well as the filter that I cut open. This is what I just put back in it after fluid and filter change, will let you know if it kills it.

    M813 Seized Engine

If you do get water out of the oil pan check the transmission and axles next using the same procedure before trying to start or move the truck. If waters in all of them you have a flood vehicle...

    M813 Seized Engine

Loosen the oil drain plug almost all the way and see if there’s water, or antifreeze in the pan, it will be settled to the bottom below the engine oil. If so, drain all the water, or antifreeze out in a bucket and see how much you get, tighten the plug back up as soon as you start to get pure...

VP Racing lubricant for trans and T case?

Best I can find, that fluid falls in the sae80wt gear oil range, but would bet it is not rated for use with hypoid gear sets.

VP Racing lubricant for trans and T case?

You get what you pay for, J20A is the “next” cheap thing since 303 fluid was sued off the market several years ago. The only thing I use if for is short, light use flushes of very dirty systems, before going to high dollar modern OEM specd fluid.

M929A2 Dump wanting wider tires on Rear

Does anyone happen to know if 395’s will clear the trunnion caps if the rear wheels are bolted on inside out? Also roughly how much room is under the trunnion cap, as in how much could they be shortened if any?

M929A2 Dump wanting wider tires on Rear

You can either go with bridge truck wheels, spacers, thimbles, outer nuts, and longer studs. @country could probably put together a complete kit for you but I’m sure it wont be cheap, but all you would have to do is install the longer studs and bolt the wheels on. Probably cheaper would buy...

    M200A1 Trailer. What to do?

Here are a few pics of the tongue extension . It’s removable, and can be extended 38” if necessary. The lunette is also on a receiver so it can easily be swapped out for my ball hitch if needed. My trailer came from @kblazer87 as well!
