There are a few different ones used. Check OD Iron's site,he has photos. My deuce ujoits aren't listed there. I finally got them from Boyce. Measure before ordering. I had my shaft retubed about 6" longer than stock and it cost $150 + the new ujoints.
I just won an M101. I've checked for a manual on the site and only found the newer m101a manual. Am I missing it? Does anyone have the electronic version that they can post or send to me? I may want to sell my WW2 Converto trailer, needs restoration, now.
I lost my drain plug (bottom) from my axle. Not while driving, while doing a lube change. I am sure I will find it as soon as I buy one. Anyone know what size it is I think it is 3/4" pipe thread. Gasket? Material? I know I could pull the other one but I am leaving on a trip in a couple of days...
Mine cost $150 and we changed the U joints at he same time. It was kind of fun, when I brought it in, the counter guy knew it was from a deuce. Seems he spent time under them while in Vietnam. Thanks Herbie!
If anyone need a compressor wrench let me know. I charge $30 for one or $50 for two with priority shipping in the USA. These are CNC cut steel in the same pattern as the military wrench.
I am a little out of place here. I just got a CJ7, haven't even picked it up yet. Does any one know if there are any free manuals on line. If I had found a military one I would know right where to look. I know she has some frame problems. If anyone has parts or even a frame let me know.
Dad is correct! Left side- left hand thread, right side- right hand thread. To remove right hand thread turn the nuts ccw. Ther are a few trucks where they were changed out incorrectly. Sometimes the studs and inner wheel nuts are marked.
I will draw it up and see what intrest there is. I think I would make it like the front wrench (thickness and lenght). Let me know if you want one or a set.
I have made some of the wrenches and they work well. They are presision CNC cut steel. I charge $30 for one or $50 for two with shipping in the US. If you are interested in the back wrench also I could make them also. I think the pair would sell for $50 with shipping.
I just bought some new toys. One of the things was a trailer dolly. It is a tandem axle commerical rig, 8 tires, Dayton rims. I can't decide if I should keep it to go with the Deuce or sell it. I have a good set of NDTs I could put on it. I need to pick it up soon and will take some pictures then.
To answer your question, no, there is no easy way. I ground the heads off, then center punched and drilled. I started with a 3/16" bit and then used a 3/8" bit. I didn't drill all the way through the backside head. Then I took a drift and knocked the rivets out. There are a lot of rivets!
