Do you have a continuity tester or a VOM? What you want to check for is a short. Test the coax for connectivity on the inner wire and then on the shield mak sure you get a good light on the tester or a direct short on the meter. Then test between the inner wire and the shield to see if the coax...
Double check the gournd strap. On the bolt that the extra ground wire is attached to make sure you have a star toothed washer on both the bolt head and the nut. This will help get a good ground. Or if you really want it to ground well...grind that spot to bare metal, install nut, bolt and star...
The gasket goes on the upper side of the mount and the grounding plate goes on the underside. As stated the hoseclamp goes around the PL-259 antenna coax connector. An additional ground wire like CUCV1833 stated is not a bad idea. 108-110 inches is about the right length. If you cut the top...
Spend a little extra money when you get to that point and get a custom aluminum radiator made for the motor and the opening. I forget the company right at the moment that does the work, but the reports that I've gotten is they are thinner than original, fit the opening with the correct inlet...
Wow...if I handn't been paying attention I would have missed that blip on the screen...
I would double check all your grounds and the connectors like richark998 said.
I've owned all three trucks and I've driven all three trucks. I have to say as a daily driver I would choose the M880. It keeps up with traffic and can do 65-70 mph on the highway. I would switch it to power steering also. M880s don't seem as load in the cab as the CUCV. The CUCV M1008 is...
Have you checked the relay that is under the dash to see if you are getting a good 24V source to the selinod on the starter? When I had a CUCV I thought I was having a starter problem only to find it was the relay causing me greef!
Great work! If I didn't know any better I'd say the last pic was taking in 1968 instead of 2012. I am going to assume that was your father's war?
Great job on the truck! Looks like a few more things and you'll be all set. So already starting to think what the next project will be...
Well that's the good news. Your not out any money. You might want to look around at a junk yard and see if you can get the wiring and computer out of another truck. It may still be a PITA to hook up though. Also you need to check on the transfercase splines to see if you need to make an...
On the radio truck they do look a little big. On a 6x6 900x20's may look ok. That might be a cheaper solution than the stock tire. Unless you want it 100% original. Your truck is looking great! Keep up the good work.
